    Hi All,

Just hitting 40K miles and wondering if I should do these? Dealership recommended doing these.
    1. Fuel induction service
    2. TB service - injector
    3. Brake fluid service
    Much appreciated!

    Too many, but not enough....
Those seem like they are just trying to make a buck. Unless you have extreme service, I dont think those are necessary at 40k. Have they tested for metal levels in your brake fluid?

MAF Sensor and Throttle body cleaning can be done DIY for about $20 ($10-ish per bottle of cleaner can get multiple uses out of) and 10-20 minutes of time.

Injectors, I just run a can of cleaner through the tank (less the 1/4 tank). There are more involved way to do this if you want, but it's worked fine for me. Royal Purple cleaner

Youtube videos on all above including brake fluid.

No. Don't need any of them. Money makers for dealer.

This. The fuel induction service and throttle body service will provide no value to you or your truck, and nothing but $$ for the dealer.

Lots of automakers, primarily the Euro makes, do specify brake fluid replacement every 2 to 3 years. Brake fluid does absorb water and it can have a negative effect on the braking and brake components over time. I don't think Toyota has a specified interval for this work.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
If you do the brake fluid, replace with Full Synthetic, it absorbs far less water from the air so it lasts longer between changes.

Some folks go 19 years between brake fluid changes with no apparent issues, ask me how I know....

It's not something that needs to be done at 40K, 100K, etc. unless it's been near a decade.

It's insulting they are even offering this crap.

I would do a drain and fill on the trans if you haven’t done it and also change front and rear diffs if not done.

Great advice. Fluid is cheap and do it yourself to make sure it's actually getting done and right.

300 hectares on single tank of kerosene

An emphatic "NO!" to all. Save your money, none of these services will add to the longevity of your truck life.

    1) Fuel induction service... if your injectors are in that bad of shape, they can only be repaired by replacing them and at 40K miles, I can assure you, there is no problem.

    2) TB service-injector... Sounds like a double-tap on the first service, I have no idea what this means. If you kept your air filer clean, the throttle body should not require a cleaning unless you have a K&N filter and you gummed it up with filter lube.

    3) Brake fluid service?... If your brakes function correctly and there are no leaks on the master cylinder, break cylinders, tell them to go to hell. Even if you pay for it, I would put 1000 bucks with ten-to-one odds that they would not perform it, because there is no way you would possibly know unless your fluid is black. I've gone nearly 300,000 on the brake fluid on a Tacoma I had, there is no reason to change this. It is hydraulic fluid.

    Tell them to shove it.

Holy smokes! I bet your brake fluid is as clear as new. You wouldn't even know if they didn't do a darn thing-same for injection and TB 'service'. Throw a bottle of Techron in your tank IF you want and call it a day. $7.99.

I recently went in for my 30k service and the service advisor said that Toyota strongly recommends a trans, transfer case and diff service for this mileage. I stared blankly at him for a minute to see if he was joking. He wasn't...

My dealership suggested same things. For 1 & 2 using high quality gas should eliminate the need for them. I try to use top tier gas all the time. Non top tier is maybe 1 in 4 fill ups? For 3 I would say unless they showed you some test showing high water concentration you should be fine. My dealership also suggested front and rear diff and transfer case change, which is a good idea, but I did mine at 30K at home.

I did all 3 with trans being drain & fill since toyota removed trans cooler.

I highly recommend doing trsfr case & diff oil change. I was avg 14.5mpg before it was done. Since that service i’m avg 16.5mpg driving exact same routes for over 5k miles now.

I provided the fluids and the labor was very cheap for them, you could lookup youtube videos for both, they’re very easy to do.
