Have any of you folks put a leveling kit on a 5th Gen 4Runner 4x4? Looking at the ToyTec 2" front spacer kit. The wifes 4 Runner needed new rubber, so I bought her new 20" rims so she could use the takeoff Bridgestone Dueler tires that were on my new Tundra. It was going to cost me roughly the same to buy her new 18" tires for her existing rims. There is a slight rubbing problem on the stock fender flares at near full turn in reverse. I can either take off the fender flares and cut about 1/2" of the inside lip off them... or buy a leveling kit. Just don't know which brand is best for her needs. It's her daily commute vehicle, and may spend a few days in the beach sand... other than that, nothing worse than a WalMart parking lot I would think.

Check out 4runners.com there are a number of threads on leveling kits. I would go with bilstein 5100s. They are fairly inexpensive and adjustable so you don’t have any bro lean going on. In my opinion the 5th gen needs a little rake to look right.

I would skip the spacers if you can afford Bilstein 5100s. Have them on my wife’s 4Runner, I believe the 2nd setting, and leveled it perfectly.
