First time posting. I have a 08 Tundra SR5 with 264000 miles. I did a spill and fill with replacing the filter. The issue here is whenever I shift from Park to either Drive or Reverse, it doesn't move for a while. After revving a couple of times, it feels like it rough shift and the truck launches depending on whatever gear I'm in. Whenever its in Drive, its takes a while to for it to change gear. Once in 3rd, its fine. 1st > 2nd > 3rd it struggles. After a while of this going on, I took it to Autozone to use their OBD scanner. I get a P2714 Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Performance or Stuck OFF with Secondary DTCs P0894 - Transmission Component Slipping, P0751 - Shift Solenoid "A" Performance or Stuck OFF, P0776 - Pressure Control Solenoid "B" Performance or Stuck OFF. Also got a C1201 - Brake Boost Sensor Circuit Range/Performance, I've taken my truck to a mechanics and he said replacing the solenoid wouldn't fix the issue and focus on replacing the transmission. Any thoughts?

Are you certain the fluid level is correct? What made you think the “filter” needed serviced? Im assuming you saw it’s more a strainer than filter…

It could be as simple as your fluid level being incorrect. (Too much can be bad too.)

After verifying without-a-doubt the fluid level, if your truck still acts up, I would drain and pull the pan again. You may have pinched a wire in there, or knocked one loose.

What you see inside the pan is the valve body, worst case you've probably got a bad solenoid or two---which are replaceable. (As-is the entire valve body.)

The solenoids and/or valve body passages may have tiny crud that is impacting their operation...more drain and fills can help clean the crap out.

These transmissions are generally bulletproof for a LOT of miles.

Good luck with it, let us know how it turns out!

I had free time today, I've put a clip at the thermostat valve and getting ready to open the overfill plug. I believe its a 3/16. When I put it in, I realize it was stripped because saw a lot of movement. Went for the next one up which was a 1/4 doesn't fit. Is there a way to remove the overfill plug?

If you find a single SAE sized bolt on the Tundra - I’d be shocked. Everything is metric. Try a 5mm Allen.

    Too many, but not enough....
This happened on my matrix recently and the fluid was low.

Was it broke before the fluid dump and was it checked at the correct temperature? If no on the later, quit forcing it to move as you're burning the clutches and steels killing the trans.
