So my 05 Tundra v8 double cab 4x4 is going to need a new transmission in the near-ish future.

About a year and a half ago it started having a pending code for the lockup on the torque converter. Had it check by a shop and they said it’ll last a while provided when towing or in hilly terrain I kick it out of overdrive. I did a complete flush with a bunch of additives, pan drop and filter change. It may have bought me some time but now it’s starting to get a little worse. So I’m starting to keep an eye out for low mileage donor.

I’m not in a huge rush, it’s still driving, so I’d like to find the lowest mileage one I can. From research it sounds like the sequoia A750F is the same and will bolt up. Anybody know if the 4Runner V8 A750F will bolt up as well? I think all the v6 A750’s will physically bolt up but from what I’ve heard the electrical connections are slightly different, plus the clutch packs maybe a little less in the v6 models.

Anybody have any knowledge on this? Thanks!

Anything with the v8 should bolt up. The v6 ones I THINK. Have the same wiring. But you’d need to swap the bell housing and the torque converter wouldn’t be correct for the v8

Yep any v8 A750F should bolt on. I did something very similar but completely opposite with my 02 Sequoia. Dropped the tranny in from an 04 Tundra 4x4 as they fixed the planetary gear issue in 03 and it fit with no issues. I couldn't use the transfer case however as the Sequoia has the manual 4lo.
