The Android Auto Application Downloader(AAA) is a way to install and use apps on the infotainment screen that would normally be blocked(Youtube etc...) I see it was mentioned here in the forum a few months back...

Using AAAD - I installed Carstream and it actually works fine except it doesn't let me do fullscreen on the truck display. It only opens into the 2/3rds mode w/the map or whatever on the right hand 1/3rd of the screen. Some other apps including Waze are the same way so I'm thinking it's something with the app or how the infotainment screen works with Android Auto. Google maps does fullscreen though???

Anyway, AAAD does work on 2023 Tundras...and it's free as long as you only want to install one app every month :) It's worth paying $5 for the pro version even if you only use it once though IMO. It has to be side-loaded though...

I was wondering if anyone actually has gotten Performance Monitor working? I can get it loaded on my phone and the icon shows up in Android auto(on car screen) but it seems to open and then immediately crash/close.
There are several screen mirroring apps in AAAD and they seem to work fine too but are limited to the screen size of the phone. Can't stand all the wasted screen realestate.
I've mostly settled on using Carstream since works well enough, uses most of the screen, and it also has a browser. If someone has figured out how to get carstream to go fullscreen on the Tundra 14" screen I'd love to hear the fix. It does do the 2/3 screen mode.

I'm the technical sort but I've not had this truck long and I've never done much Mobile development to understand the underpinnings.
I did consider the Benize/Magic box options but unless I misunderstand, it'll need a hotspot or simcard to connect to the interwebbes. Aside from needing to turn on my hotspot every time my hotspot is data limited making that a no-go.

I switch between carstream and fermata. The problem I have with carmstream is the volume. When watching a video I can't control the volume. I have to open a music app or podcast and adjust the volume that way. The weird thing is when I'm in a different veh I can adjust the volume when watching a video, just not in the tundra
