Hey guys, i need help, ABS light and traction control light are on. Scanned for codes, No codes are present. took MAF sensor off to check if it was the scanner, scanner found the code for MAF sensor. But no codes showed up. I took out a abs sensor, and 4HI started blinking. I put it back in but still the same. I took out the transmission speed sensor and tested with a voltmeter, its fine as well. What could it be?

how long have they been on? mine does that after I disconnect the battery and they usually go off after a short drive. have you tried disconnecting the battery to reset it?

I dont think its abs sensors bc 4hi wasnt on until i broke the drivers side abs sensor out. I can check for damaged wires.

First check your taillights. Make sure you don’t have a burnt bulb.

Steering position sensor. If your steering wheel is off to one side or another it will set off the lights. Such as in need of an alignment

Would that put a light on the dash but not throw a code?

It did for me, but if your steering wheel is straight while driving then that is not your problem.

Did you do any work or mods to the truck recently or change anything else?

When I was hauling a load of mulch my ABS and traction control sensors alarmed (along with my TSS sensor). Upon doing a little research it was basically because my rear end dropped so much that is threw everything off (my leafs were shot). Once I removed the load and restarted the truck everything went back to normal. I then upgraded my rear suspension to counteract that issue going forward. I know it's not the exact same situation but it certainly could have had something to do with towing causing sag in the rear end causing the sensors to alarm.

I had some warning lights turn on a couple years ago that made no sense (I think it was ABS and 4Hi failure). Dealer tracked it down to a knock sensor wire that rodents had chewed through when they made a home under my intake manifold. Completely unrelated to ABS or anything else. It was a $19 harness and a lot of labor. However, the dealer was able to track down exactly what it was based on the codes they pulled, so as another poster stated, you might want to get a different scanner.
