I have a 15 platinum Crew Cab. The Ac has blowing weak since I got it earlier this year. I've changed the cabin air filter, andcand the freon. Is there a way to make it blow harder? Wasn't sure if a Sequoia AC blower would fit or help or even a newer tundra blower.

You shouldn't be adding R134A by can. Take it in and have an AC tech determain the problem. It's one of those jobs skill and equipement is needed.

I'll have to check the hose and seals. I had my basic mechanic shop check the ac and "top it off." They said it seemed fine. It's just not blowing to my standards. I was thinking about buying a new blower motor and trying that out.

So is the issue temperature or the volume of air blowing from the vents?

Volume. It's cold. Not freezing. I live in central Florida, donuts hot AF already. My AC seats don't feel like they blow at all either or hardly at all too.

Is it also coming out of the floor? There was a guy on here where his switching thing was stuck, so even though he selected the face vents it wouldn’t switch properly and was coming out face and foot vents so there was less volume. Yours might be stuck. I don’t know the technical terms for any of the parts.

That's how my '15 sequoia is, cold air but not much volume. My 01 4runner has colder air and blows much harder plus it has an extra 'crotch' cooler outlet midway down the steering column. At medium-high it blows harder than the sequoia on High, sad. You don't have this option, but at least i can turn on the rear a/c blower, helps....

Must be something wrong. I live in south GA and even on the hottest days I’m turning the blower down a notch or two after a few minutes.

That's what I think about sequoia's a/c. I never have to turn it down where as the 4runner I do everytime after 5-10mins.

Also, when I set the vents to Upper/lower on the 4runner, there is a fair amount of air coming out from the bottom, not on the sequioa - can barely feel it, so little its really not even worth the bother, again sad, so yes I think there is something wrong. Anyone else have gripes?

There are only a few things that can effect the volume of air. Either the fan is not coming up to full speed or there is a blockage in the ducting. Remove the new cabin air and run it without and see if improves. Some aftermarket cabin air filters restricted air flow. Open the hood and make sure there are no leaves and debris sitting on the inlet by the passenger wiper. When the AC is running at max are you seeing water dripping on the ground on the passenger side? If not then the drain could be plugged and this can cause water build up and things start to grow on the evaporator and can block air flow. Check those things and report back.

Curious, you said you had a mechanic check it and "top it off" and they said everything is find. Why would someone add R134A (freon) and say everything is good? It's a closed system and if freon was added everything is not OK. Why didnt they notice the low air volume and address that issue?

I've gotten used to how the ac blows in the tundra. When I was on my way to pick it up I was really excited to get a newer truck. and I thought the air was gonna blow me away, since i was coming from a 95 f250. It gets cold. And after about 5 to 10 minutes the cab is cool enough that I can turn it down. My 95 gets way colder and blows harder. I figure it has something to do with size of the dash, plus the dash it black. Its alot of internal real estate to cool off in there after it's been sitting in the sun

I got the new blower in yesterday. Once I get a chance, I'll swap it out. As far as freon, I'm not sure exactly what they put in. I was guessing it was that. The shop said the AC appeared to be fine because they said it was blowing cold ac. My old tundra blew way harder and so did my sequoia.

Yes I did last weekend. Night and day difference. Bought another OEM blower. Took 20 minutes to install. Blows way better

I'm wondering if mine is 'low' compared to others or not lol...guess the same thing you were wondering as well. I'll have toyota give me their opinion next time see if they will change it out. It's not horrible but it definitely doesn't feel 'HIGH' when on full blast top vents only.

Is it still blowing strong after replacing the blower motor?

I’ve got a 21. At about 45K miles now, noticed it was blowing weak. Replaced with new OEM blower. No improvement.

I’ll try without air filter and check for water on passenger side

Check you filter and replace in dirty but don't run without it. It prevents dirt from contaminating the evaporator.
