I put a hole in my AC condenser on my 18 CM 4x4 with when installing an aftermarket grill and relocating my TSS sensor. I was wondering if anyone has or knows the steps on removing and replacing the condenser. I have a new condenser on the way and I have ac buddy who will vacuum and recharge the system so I am hoping that removing the condenser is not to difficult. It looks like I can remove the condenser with the grill removed but it never is that easy. Any advice would be much appreciated.

20191103_165305.jpg I made my own TOYOTA letters and put them on the after market grill. When I put on my new TSS sensor bracket my plan is to fix the ac condenser.

I don't have any experience with it but I believe you'll also want to replace the A/C Drier also, from what I understand the drier should be replaced anytime the system has been open.

Curious, what did you pay for your condenser? 2 years ago I hit a turkey with my ‘18 CM and it took out the radiator mount and condenser. I only paid the $500 deductible but the total bill was $5G with $1200 just for the condenser alone.

I order one from sun belt radiators in Florida for $100 , free shipping and a lifetime warranty. I did a lot of research and hope it works out.

Some 18s are using the new refrigerant R-1234yf which operates at a higher pressure therefore requires a beefier matched condenser with ND-12 oil. If you haven't already, check the label located under your hood to assure that your replacement parts are compatible. Also, R-1234yf is 2-3 X higher in price so be prepared for sticker shock.

    Good luck with your project!

Thanks, and yes I have the new refrigerant R-1234yf and just the refrigerate is going cost me around $130 for 32oz, plus I found out to use this new refrigerant it requires either adapters or updated charging/vacuum hoses. This new Freon is supposed to be better for the environment but it is not better for my wallet.

Did you end up removing from the front or pushing radiator back and squeezing it between straight up?
