I have a 2001 SR5, 2 wheel drive, 4.7l engine. One day AC working great. Next day, no cold air.

Mechanic did diagnostic of system and everything checked out fine.
He pulled out the integrated climate control panel and said not getting a signal at the turn on switch.
Recommended to get a new climate control module. That part is discontinued.

Found a used one on ebay.
It came from a 2003 4x4. The module, 84010-0C051, was exactly the same as mine, 84010-0C031, with the correct electrical connectors. Plugged it in and everything worked correctly except still no cold air. The AC switch does light up.

Called mechanic again and said to bring it back in for further troubleshooting.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

Let's assume for one minute that the mechanic is correct and the entire system is functioning correctly. The part #'s you list are not for identical models. As a matter of fact, Toyota itself states that those parts are VIN specific by production. Some changes were made during the production runs. Therefore, it is quite possible that the part you purchased does not function properly in your truck.

Let's assume for one minute that the mechanic is incorrect. The FSM for your MY states that these are the 11 possible causes of no cool air:

    1. Refrigerant volume
    2. Refrigerant pressure
    3. Drive belt
    4. Magnetic clutch
    5. Compressor
    6. Pressure switch
    7. Thermistor
    8. A/C switch
    9. Integration control and panel
    10.Heater control assembly
    11.Wire harness

If it were me, I would make certain that I had the correct part for my specific truck in the correct production-run by date and install it before going any further and throwing unnecessary parts and $$$ at it. You have to have the VIN of the vehicle you're taking it out of first to verify the truck was produced during the same production period to do this correctly. Or, you could take your "bad" switches to an electronics guru near you and have him/her desolder and resolder the non-functioning/burned-up parts on the board. Sometimes old solder itself cracks and isn't able to make the connection sufficiently anymore and resoldering may work. May need a resistor or capacitor. Who knows? Probably cheaper and easier to go this route even if it may not sound like it for a discontinued part.

While I assume the "mechanic" checked these items and to piggy back onto what @Desert Dog offered, have you personally checked the underhood A/C fuse. Even tho it might be the wrong module, the AC light coming on tells me the heater relay and fuse are good, since they are both needed to let AC work and turn that light on.

The person you have working on the vehicle sounds like he's competent based on your description of his diag. I would first try and find someone who repairs electronics to simply repair your old module since it can be done and I have a feeling your A/C will work after that. There may be more to it but old solder joints are oftentimes the problem and easily repaired by someone that knows what they're doing. Keep us posted on how it turns out.

    Hey Desert Dog
Took the truck to dealership. They were able to power up AC w/o module. They said needs new climate control module which has been discontinued. They said they have new wire integrated electrical board for $800. Found 1800ecm.com in TX that rebuilt board, as you suggested, for $300.
Took them 3 weeks to get components from abroad.
Installed module this morning, still no AC. AC fuse is good. I know they worked on it cause clock wasn't working before but is working now. What would you do next? Thanks

Could be possible that the rebuild was no good. Might want to contact the company again that did it and double check some stuff with them.

    Possible
I just checked to see if the ac clutch was engaging. It is not. So, no power to clutch? Where does power come from? Climate Control Module?

Check for power to the AC pressure switch and then from it.

If power to it, electronics in the cab are probably ok.

If no power from it, improper charge (low usually) or bad switch.
