Hi, I have 2013 Reg Tundra 4.6 engine the other day activated AC pressing AC button everything works fine. I wanted to shut it off but the green light and AC are still on. The section switch is set for floor and middle, not on defrost. I turn the fan off the AC shuts off (green light off) as soon as the fan is turned on AC light is on along with AC working.??

Try turning the temperature dial just a bit above the coldest setting.

I turned it above, and it did work the AC (green) light on the button is off.
So why is it when I turn AC on (Press button), it will not shut off after pressing the button the second time. You would think it would shut off. Thank you

When you have the knob turned all the way to the left (coldest setting), it is set to MAX A/C……and the a/c will stay on - hence when you push the button it stays green. When you disengage the MAX A/C option, it allows you to turn the a/c on and off with the push of the button. Not sure why it is but it just is

It was not on AC Max fan having knob turned all the way to the left. It was in the Blue but wouldn't allow me to shut off AC. Its off now, its intermittent.

“Max AC” is kind of an old holdover term when the dial is set to its coldest and recirc is on. Newer AC systems have more methods of control and sometimes don’t have “Max AC” as part of the settings, even though they still have a Max AC position. Appears the system behaves that way when the knob is temp turned all the way cold. Also activates as you pointed out when in defrost mode, although it also doesn’t say it’s doing it on the position indicator. If you have climate control with temp settings and an Auto mode, you can have the AC activated and not know it.

Max AC is not a fan setting, or at least it's never been in any of my vehicles. It's the temp setting. If you have it turned to the max cold (blue) setting it will keep AC on. Go one notch below and you can turn it on and off as you please. It's should be independent of the fan speed.

The attached is my truck AC controls. Now unable to turn on AC after pressing AC button, I have to select Max AC on the temp control knob, turn into blue and then turn off recirculate air button. I press AC button again AC will not shut off, have to turn Fan off to shut AC off. If I turn back on even after a day sitting the AC goes on with the fan. To shut AC off (green light goes off on the AC button) I have to remove and re-seat 7.5amp AC fuse number 8 on the cabin fuse panel. Does someone have schematic wonder if AC on/off switch is problem.

Schematic on the forum here. Click forums scroll to garage heading and click electrical subheading, the wiring diagrams or schematics for all truck models is right there. Search through them for your truck and see what you can find out.

Well that is a large PDF...How do you remove the center plastic cover where radio and all of the switches like in previous PIC?
If I take this to dealer would they be able to determine if it the AC amp or possible bad switch?

    Summary
The AC stays on when fan switch is on. If I turn off fan switch AC shuts off. The AC switch will not shut AC off.
