My computer has always been set on Trip Summary Mileage on my 2018 Tundra. It's always frustrated me with short trips. It starts with a Bad Mileage rating and works its way to better mileage the longer my trip. If you have been parked or idling for a long time and get going again, there is no way I thought to reset the computer to get an accurate, current driving mileage at any one time. i.e. Cruising on highway, Towing, Going through the bush, Going up the hill. It was a summary when I turned the truck off, and I thought it could not be reset.

Kudos to this video for illustrating how to do it.

Toggle through the driver center console settings Meter Settings, Info 1, and select Total Tank Average. Leave the setting on Total Average. Lets you reset as you drive so you can see what mileage you are getting at any given time.

The manual is not clear on this so I hope this helps some of you, like it did me.

I had Two - 350 cu - 5.7 liter Camaros that got worse mileage and had factory 200hp. A joke.
So - I consider my Tundra a kind of miracle for its hp - mildly tuned from the factory - and what I use it for.
I use my truck as a hauler. Its always full of stuff going to the cabin. I get 18-19 doing 55mph on hilly country roads.
I think that speed is the transmission's sweet spot - its like its idling driving up.
I also feel that anyone that grew up driving 5 and 6 speed manual cars....
get better mileage because they are more in tune with how the engine is reving through, the 6speed auto.

Badass, thanks for sharing. That tank average always drives me nuts. I’ve never had a vehicle that shows you the mpgs till this truck mind you, but still.
