This morning on my way into work, I set my cruise to 84 and radar to the longest setting. As traffic slowed, I expected the cruise control to drop off under 25 or so like my ‘21 would. To my surprise, it stayed engaged all the way through 20 minutes of stop and go traffic… pretty cool!

It does work really well….cruise and the lane centering is a nice feature. If you haven’t figured it out yet, you can set the alert to vibrate your steering wheel rather than the annoying beep

The first vehicle I've had where the adaptive cruise control works.
I turn it off in everything else.

It is a super useful feature, one thing though if you try to set cruise and are going under 20mph, say 10mph, it will push up to 20mph automatically.

As in it came to a complete stop without you touching the brakes and then resumed once the car in front moved forward?

The lane centering works way better with cruise on

Lane centering only works when adaptive cruise is operating. If adaptive cruise is not operating, lane centering does not function. What does function with cruise off is LTA (Lane Tracing Assist) which just basically tries to keep the vehicle from departing the lane it is in (as opposed to staying centered in the lane).

If you click the button twice when not in cruise it does say lane centering. You can feel it, but it’s just not as aggressive

And yes the cruise will come to a stop and take off once the car in front of you goes. Hard to trust that in traffic but it does work

Very cool. Never had the confidence in the system to try it.

Not according to the manual. Yes, it will still show lane centering if you click the button twice, but it is not actively working. It will only keep you from departing the lane when cruise is not on, as opposed to keeping you centered in the lane. Look in the manual about the LTA function vs lane centering.

I only know because I thought the same thing as you. I was wondering why the lane centering sucked when cruise was off. I looked in the manual and question answered, lol.

I do feel like I see lane centering on the display if I hit it twice when not in cruise. I’ll have to check it out again. Unfortunately I hardly ever use it. I only use it when it’s late and I’ve been driving for a while

Yes, it will show lane centering if you hit the button twice with cruise off, but it doesn't engage until cruise is on. Pushing the button repeatedly cycles between LTA only and LTA + lane centering. Holding the button down turns off both systems. The way it displays definitely gives the impression lane centering is on when it's not (if cruise is off).

Next time you try to use it, turn cruise on and turn lane centering off (so only LTA is on), and you'll see it does what you were interpreting as lane centering not working as well, even though cruise is on. Basically it will only correct the steering at the edge of the lane to keep you from departing the lane.
