The only feature I missed getting on this truck is the HUD. It didn't seem like a big deal at the time and the only trucks available w/it were Capstone for another $10k....also the Capstone interior just didn't do it for me.
Anyone know how big a deal it is to add it? I notice there isn't even a blank on the dash where it would go.

I have no clue, but definitely following this thread. I would love to add it to my 23 Sequoia TRD Pro.

I would guess it's not possible at the HUD isn't even its own option but part of the advanced package with AVS. Probably shares some common harnesess and modules with the AVS system.

I'm not sure that's possible. There are a lot of things connected to the HUD, the radio, dash info, cruise control, the number of vehicle lengths you set for the adaptive cruise control, being able to connect it to the dash in a way that allows you to scroll through cluster options to adjust the HUD. I don't see how you overcome all of that.

Are they connected directly to the HUD module or to the dash cluster? I know the way BMW used to do it was essentially a video connection cable from the dash cluster and a power cable prewired from one of the nearby harness. The dash cluster had all of the control for the HUD, it basically just acted as an output. However, the setting to enable the HUD had to be flashed onto the dash control module, which required a friendly BMW tech.

also if i remember correctly, the front windshield is different to account for the hud. those without have a different winshield.

or am i completely wrong and they added a film to the inside windshield to help display the hud?

Isn’t there a cover in that area for the non-hud vehicles? Might want to try to see what’s underneath to check for any harnesses, etc.
