Adding cameras if you don’t have multi-cam

I have an SR5 Off-road coming but in Canada the multi-cam isn’t an option. It only comes on limited OR and up.

I like the idea of a front facing camera for tight spots. The other cameras I don’t care as much about. Is this likely something that could be added after the fact and viewed within the OEM screen? Or is aftermarket likely going to be the route?

 

Yes you can add a front cam. Lou @TundraTex makes the FRAC harness specifically for this application.

Not sure about SR5, but my Canadian Limited has front bumper sonar sensors. I miss having all of the cameras, but the sonars work quite well.

 

The SR5 OR has the full sensor package. Good to hear they work well - may not need a camera. I suppose best to wait until I finally get my hands on it.

Will do. With the '21 SR5 grill I'll need to get creative mounting the camera especially I'm doing it while camping and not at home I have a little more than basic tools. The camera dimensions are available on Amazon.

 

I’ve got this one or one like it. I made a small bracket and mounted inside the honeycomb with double sided tape. So far it’s held up. I’ve got it I set just a bit too much and I can actually see the edges of the grill but it works fine for parking.

Ya looks like a bit of confusion. Looks like no 3rd gen harness. I wonder if the truck is prewired for the cameras and it’s a matter of putting a camera on? Would be awesome to able to upgrade from no multi cam to at least some additional cams with the stock head unit.
