So I had a clunk occasionally when turning right that I attributed to a bad sway bar link. I think the angle after my lift was a bit much even with spacers. I decided to go with Heim joint style adjustable sway bar links. I used the directions to install but it really just said “adjust height as needed” so it really wasn’t helpful in that regard. After install I now have a clunk when I turn left that I can feel right under my feet. It only happens occasionally though usually when there is a dip in the road. I notice that the sway bar is closer to the heim joint on the drivers side compared to the passenger so I wonder if that is jamming up a bit on those left turns. Anyone have any experience installing these? I did it all on the ground and had to lift the drivers side a bit to get it to line up with the link since my driveway has normal slope to it. Just trying to figure out if this looks normal or if I installed it incorrectly. Pic 1 is passenger side. 2 is drivers side where I feel the clunk.

So I decided to redo the drivers side and it now looks like the passenger side. But now I get a metal on metal clunk when I turn left or right when there is a decent dip in the road. Haha. I just can’t win on this one. I’m debating putting the sway bar spacer back in and changing the length to match stock….

Sway bar? We don’t need no stinking sway bar.

Yeah I was thinking it may be when I’m hitting those dips and turning.

Ha I was waiting for this comment. I know there’s a lot that run without. I may give it a try just to see what it feels like but I’m pretty aggressive when I drive it (not in an asshole kind of way) I just like to enjoy using the v8 to it’s potential.

You think that would mean the links are adjusted out too much? The fact that they might be hitting the coilovers? If that’s the case I don’t really see any solution other than putting the spacers back and and putting the links back to stock length.

I'd say yeah if you've got them adjusted "tall" you're gonna have a higher chance of hitting the coils

Adjust them to where the sway bar is level. Are your bump stops hitting the lower control arms? You should notice impact marks. If not, your shocks are likely bottoming out, and that is bad news. At that point, bump stop extensions or possibly Durobumps, Timbren bump stops, or similar.

I do have a set of wheelers durobumps on there. So I’m thinking it has to be hitting the shocks given the sound I am hearing. I’ll check out the level of the sway bar and adjust as needed. Fingers crossed and thanks for the help everyone.

Kinda looks like the durobump bolt head is exposed. Maybe just the picture though. If exposed, you have metal to metal noise right there.

It does in the photo. I’ll double check that as well.

So just an update as I finally got around to checking everything out. Bump stops were fine, must’ve just been the reflection or angle that the photo was taken. I tried tweaking things a bit but nothing was giving a good fit so I decided to put the spacers back in and set the links to stock length. I then received an email from the company a few minutes ago that basically said the same thing and that the adjustments are just for small tweaks. First test drive felt much better and no metal on metal sound.
