Front coilovers or rear? 2.5 or 3.0..?

Lot of us running ADS 2.5 triple bypass in the rear and absolutely love them. The clacky sound is fun too!

I'm not cool enough for bypasses, so I just have the regular old 2.5's. Definite improvement over stock and the toytec shocks I had before. I wish they were valved a little plusher/softer with the clickers fully open. Gave about 2.5" lift with the collar all the way up, so not really 0-4" like they advertise

It’s good but it depends if you get the bypasses they click some people find that annoying.

Yes you can if your windows are down. It’s not that bad. I’ve had a guy yell in a parking lot “hey dude somethings loose back there lol “ if your windows are up you can’t hear them well with trd exhaust.

I'm working with Matt and MCM and will be going 3.0s and trips. Also, unless you're down to wait 40 weeks for Fox or Kings they are your only custom option currently.

These are definitely in the same class as the other premium shocks; they compete right up there with Fox and King.

Where do you live? If you're in a heavy salt zone everything will rust. Although Fox claims that zinc coating to be the best at rust mitigation... I've never found that to be true. I've lived within miles of the Atlantic and the Pacific - salt air is bad. I've lived in salted winter road territory as well - that is worse.

ADS 3.0s have 40% more dampening than the 2.5s. That matters. A lot. Plenty of people will say 3.0s are overkill. All in what you are asking the rig to do.

6 inch lift, ADS suspension, Alcan custom rear springs, 46 gallon metal gas tank, Full Line-x body, Wheels with 35's, Smittybilt bumpers front and rear, 10k warn winch, custom rack.
I had 2.5's built for my pro comp 6 inch lift and love them. Big difference over the pro comp stuff. Went with ADS because they're rebuildable, and don't rust like FOX. I called them and told them how my truck was set up. They built suspension for the Pro Comp lift and installed bigger springs to accommodate the metal bumper and winch.

Thank you! It goes over so many peoples heads to the point it's now considered okay semantics. Dampening is to dampen something, or get it wet. Damping is to absorb energy! If your shocks are really good at making things wet they probably should be rebuilt or thrown out :D

My main addiction is mountain biking and folks on the MTB boards get it wrong all the time as well.
Dampening can kinda also be used as in the case of “lessening” something (dampen your spirits) but in this case DAMPING is technically more accurate.

Oh, and I have 2.5 ADS w bypass rears. LOVE THEM!!
Just keep an eye on the rears so they don’t rotate into your leaf springs and get ripped off. Performance wise, they are awesome though.

And if they twist the other way, the bypass tubes can hit the banjo bolt and all of your brake fluid can drain out on the trail. :anonymous:
