Advanced Auto Parts Closing 700 stores, 95% off Parts

I posted this in my build thread, but it's worth it's own post for the general forum.

Check Google maps for stores near you. AAP has already removed the stores that are closing from their main website. They aren't answering the phones in closing stores either. Discounts started back in Nov, but are getting drastically lower now! They expect to finish closings in February.

I've made a few trips for off the shelf stuff, but didn't think about actual parts I may need. I back and raided them for everything I could get that they still had.

GX460 Brake Calipers and Rotors (upgrade)
Serpentine belt
Wheel hubs
Water pump

Total - $446.37
Minus Cores - $286
Grand Total: $160.37

Total before Store Closing Clearance would have been $1680.08!

Shocking. I live in a town of 2500 people we have 3 auto part stores within 100 feet of each other, and the other store is 1/8 mile away. Next it will be Oreilly and Advance to bite the dust.

There's a second one near me, and third 20 minutes away. Going to hit up those locations tomorrow. Still need to get pads, tie rods, alternator, and two more wheel bearing assemblies. Nice if they have an LC200 steering rack I can store away for the RCLT, if I ever get around to that.

I need to make a new list. That's what I did today, gave them my list and was like, give me whatever you got that's on it.

 

So you compare what google maps has vs the AAP Store Locator and the missing ones are mark down stores?

If thats the case, then we're loosing all our stores.

 

It was reported in the reddit thread that all of the CA stores and distro centers were closing.

 

I might have to check them out. I dont need any "auto parts" , but when Pepboys did the same thing, i bought an absolute shit load of detailing supplies.

 

I’d buy them out of motor oil, gear oil, trans fluid and brake cleaner

 

a lot of that is mostly gone, and only got discounted 40%. I did get enough to change the oil on my GX project.
