From what I understand, it smooths out the intake air from the turbos up into the intercooler prior to mixing with fuel to create the intake charge. While it may not feel like a huge gain, it should create some better efficiency/smoothness of the intake air. I'm planning to save some money for it and see how it goes, but I'm not giving Yota Garage any of my money. At least they haven't marked this up 200%!

Nothing would be gained by itself. Butt dyno wouldn't feel any difference.

Good luck getting anything from aFe, my 5.7 cai took over 6 months & was missing a part in the kit which took another month to get the right part.

I have one. Install is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. Dont ask me why I bought it. Nearly returned it, should have. My regular Toyota dealer figured I was up to something and ended up installing it for me.

I know my way around tools and equipment, took me all day not to be able to get it on. Dealership lifted the truck to get it on.

Best bet: wait for S&B to come out with their intake kit.

Maybe Banks Power will enter the aftermarket for the Tundra as well. Gale Banks does love him some turbos.

I was interested in this too. I'm wondering if that 17% airflow difference improves with a "cold air intake".

What we need is someone who's local to Full Race in Scottsdale AZ to drop their truck off for them to use to fab up some goodies. Full Race is one of the premier Ecoboost tuners in the USA, and I'm sure they could come up with something for the Tundra. I run several of their parts on my Subaru, and it's the best I've seen.

S&B does some serious work and testing it seems. Maybe that 17% more air flow after this kit would be a reality after an intake. But I wont do an AFE kit this time

The reason for any kit like this is because if you throw a tuner on it and increase the boost, those plastic pipes from factor don’t hold up to well. It has slight increase in airflow, but swapping plastic to metal helps the charge pipes from not cracking. I’d you install this alone without other mods, it basically does nothing. You won’t see any gains on any computer unlikely.

JB4 owners have a reason to do the charge pipe upgrade. Otherwise, stock boost = no need to get a charge pipe.

Ive had my JB4 for 12k+ miles and my oem charge pipes have yet to crack running 6lbs over stock. That being said, I have these waiting to go in...just havent had the time.

What's wrong with yota garage? Just curious I'm in Utah and was considering getting a jb4 tuner from them. Price seems the same as elsewhere.

If you look a little bit harder, they have obscene markups on many things and I refuse to give them money based on that. It may have changed up to now but I'd rather give my money right to Burgers.

The stock charge pipe isn’t going to crack or fail due to the pressure and is 100% fine even with a JB4.

Biggest reason to install an aftermarket chargepipe is if you get one with a bung to run meth injection. Otherwise it’s a pointless waste of your cash imo. Zero performance will ever be gained.

Jb4 on E30-E45 blend, afe intakes, custom catback, have the charge pipes waiting to install and picking up catless downpipes soon as well. No dyno numbers

How many gallon of E85 do you sue upon fill up?(32 gallon?)

Looking forward to your feedback once it’s all done.

The math depends on a couple of things

Ethanol content of gasoline in your area
Ethanol content of e85 in your area
Amount of fuel you have when filling up
Ethanol content of fuel in your tank
    Desired Ethanol mix

I use E85 Blend app to figure it all out. Having the Ethanol content sensor kit from bms makes this easy

If you are running E, you should install one of these to make sure you’re not running too much E on the stock fuel system. I wouldn’t run more than E30 with a custom tune (not what’s offered on the JB4 maps..you need a tuner to custom map you for map6) and you could run E40 max if you run meth injection.. unless you unlocked your ECU which would require you to send that oversea.

Well Mr.Burger without trying to upsell me in to the Ethanol kit. Just a ballpark figure will suffice. I usually do 7 to 8 gallons of E-85.

Youre more than welcome to do so but I have real life data with this platform. You can run E40, no problem on stock tuning without impacting fuel trims. E50 starts impacting trims but not enough to set off a CEL. I beta tested with BMS....they recommended no more than E40 just to he safe even if E50 was doable because there were no gains to be had with the stock timing tables.

Imo you’re going to run outta fuel at E40 without meth injection but hey not my truck.. just trying to give people a general guide to help them keep their trucks running and not blown up. Not here to misguide people. But imo I would be getting a tuner and running map6 if they want best performance. Those stock OTSM are just a guide and not one motor is the same so best performance will come from custom map.
