New to the group. Doing a few upgrades to my 2011 Tundra. Installed a Hizpo aftermarket android stereo, primarily to upgrade and install a tailgate handle backup cam. Looks like most of the wiring is plug and play (with some fear and trepidation as it has been decades since I've worked on a stereo system). Anyway, looks like rear cam and everything else works, however I can't hear any sounds from the speakers. With the volume on max, I can hear faint sounds, but just barely. I'm thinking it's an amplifier (connection) issue. Any tips or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

What system came with your truck? Non-JBL? JBL? Nav?

Can you post a link to what you bought?

I bought the truck used. Aside from checking the vehicle manual, is there a way I can verify? To my knowledge it looks like a standard cd player and radio (no nav). I don't see any indications or JBL logos anywhere.

If it was used you could have an amp that the previous owner pulled out from under the passenger seat or something?
Did it have the factory radio when you bought it and did it work fine before you started replacing to this aftermarket one?

I will check under the passenger seat. Yes it had the factory radio which was working fine. Thanks

There was a blue wire I had to cut when I did mine. I've since thrown it away and gone back to stock otherwise I'd pull it apart and take pictures.

I see the blue wire in the new ddvk which is labeled amp. Figuring I need to find the stock amp wire and tap it.

I'm guessing you have a JBL system?

Not too sure. I'll need to chdck/verify either through the user manual or visual inspection.

It would say JBL somewhere on the face of the stereo if you do. If you do, cut the amp wire and insulate both ends. It should work after that.

Haven't noticed and JBL logos anywhere. But yeah, was thinking of splicing both (blue) amp wires hoping it works. Now, just a matter of locating the stock amp wiring

Are the blue amp wires not currently connected? If not, connect them to each other. JBL needs the wire cut and non-JBL needs them connected IIRC.

Tried searching for the primary (blue) amp wire but unsuccessful. I also tried searching for the speaker wires and connecting directly to the new player, but no luck.

Does your hizpo radio’s harness have the “Orange/black” wire? That would be the amp turn on wire on some unit. The blue is for power antenna. I would check that.

The Hizpo unit has a blue line labeled AMP. It also only has one solid orange wire that I can see. Still need to locate the actual amp (if any)
