When I bought my truck, I read all these reviews on how much the factory blind spot systems weren’t the greatest, so I opted not to get them. Any links on here about offerings in the aftermarket for backing proximity alarms?

Found this so far, but for this kind of money, would like a better camera setup too.

Rule of thumb for blind spot system is avoid aftermarket, there's a lot of effort going into OEM system to make sure right distance and integration.

If you want sonar system, those are relative easy, but I think a camera does a better job on reversing.

Thanks @Downytide - I have the OEM camera due to it being a 2020, but I also want the detection audible. I think I’m finding two main technologies here, radar and ultrasonic. They both seem pretty impre$$ive - have you experienced otherwise?

either one should be simple enough to set up and reliable, Toyota actually used to have a add-on kit back in mid 2000s that used to costs like $600.

That’s a great point. Maybe I should start by calling the stealership first and seeing how much they’d charge me.
