Aggressive stance problems

    So I am currently running 17x10 wheels with 265/65/17 tires with 2 inch spacers on a leveling kit. I am planning on putting on 33s wrapped on 16 x10s with more aggressive offset. Just a different look. I know the spacers are terrible for my wheel bearings and studs. Is there any suspension components worth upgrading (stronger parts) to slow down the wearing of the bearings/studs? I have thought about doing aftermarket studs but I haven't found any that are decent and that fit.

    This can always turn into a big debate but are you running a set of good quality spacers (like Spidertrax or Bora) and are they hub centric and have they been torqued exactly to spec with thread locker? With hub centric most of the weight is on the hub. If you're running good quality hub centric spacers you should be good to go. Remember wheel offset changes are just like adding spacers in terms of leverage or wheel bearing wear.

    As far as other recommended parts due to lift and such I'll let others chime in on that.

    I have actually been looking at wheel spacers too and I was wondering I they needed to be hubcentric or not sorry to ask a question in your thread

    @TBinky yes, they should be hub centric.

    @Phiji there isn't really anything you can use to prevent wheel bearing wear. Do what you'd like and if the bearings go bad, replace them. They last a long time in these trucks.

    As far as the lugs, I don't think you will have a problem with strength, there are guys rolling on 35s and stock studs. There are some made by ARP which are good quality and are a bit longer than the stock ones. The extra length is good because with most aftermarket wheels the stock studs on the front are shallow. They were listed for lexus last time I saw them. You only need them for the fronts, rear studs are longer than fronts.

    Ok thank you, and yes they are hubcentric @TBinky, and I am running good forged aluminum spacers, I just want more trust in my suspension when I’m driving down the road. Also I’ve saw from different threads, the APR studs don’t fit 1st gen tundras, but I’m not sure if that is true. I don’t want to take it all apart just for them to not fit lol. So I might try aftermarket studs just because the truck is 21 years old and I’d have more trust in newer studs. Are there any recommendations for better wheel bearings that will last longer? Also I will probably pull my rear spacers for a more “prerunner” look, something unique because I live in Southern Indiana thanks you again for the help @Darkness

    The stock wheel bearings on my truck lasted at least 200k miles, I drove around on them pretty sure they were failing for a few thousand miles. I bought new ones from Toyota. Koyo or Timken should last a long time, thats who Toyota uses.

    Side notes- 10" wheels are pretty wide for these trucks. You probably get some good rub on your frame and pinch weld when you go to a wider/taller tire. Interesting to go from 17 to 16, 17 has a lot more tire sizing options. Not trying to talk you out of it, just making sure you've considered your options.

    Yeah so the reason I’m going to 16s is because I got a great deal on a wheel and tire set up, I like the 17s but it does look better with the 16s that are polished aluminum. Also I have 10” wides on now and they don’t rub the frame, and with the offset and spacers they are really close to rubbing the cab corner and the bumper, which won’t be that big of a problem cause I can cut that.

    @Phiji sounds like you're aware, thats good. As someone who cut his pitch welds down, I recommend not cutting them. Instead just beat the flaps flat so that you don't lose much structure.

    Now, as @bmf4069 says, can you post some pics of your truck? We like pics. Like alot.

    You are going to be some major cutting, grinding and bashing to make that setup fit. Even with tiny tires, that wide of wheel plus the spacers, you aren't going to have any turning radius.

    If you did long travel arms you could eliminate the need for spacers. It's just really expensive to do so.

    You gonna add some flares? I feel like it needs flares with the wider wheel look.

    I agree about the fender flares, the problem is just finding good ones for a fair price. The longer control arms I looked into were pretty expensive but I believe you also have to buy other suspension components along with them to fit(not 100% sure that’s true) but i did do a little bumper tweak that I think makes the truck look way better, I removed the little plastic piece under the big bumpers that is held on by about 15 or so 10 mil screws, they are hard to get to but it looks like u have more ground clearance and even looks a little taller(probably cause I stare at the thing for so long) sorry for the bad qualityB2848986-618E-4A7F-87F4-28ECE8BE7298.jpg
