Anyone else have a strong wind blow through the cabin when the air dryers hit the back window area? I’ve had the truck since November and with my car wash plan, I wash it 2-3 times/week. Every time the dryers hit the back window, receipts, papers, and dog hair go flying. Is there a fix or is it just a vent back there? 2016 CM

This happens to me in the car wash too and I just assumed it was the rear vents. Scared me the first time though, thought I left the rear window open or something.

There are two vents on the back wall of the CrewMax cab, one on each side. I get small puff, but doesn't seem that strong from the front seat. I don't have anything in the back that would be blown around, so not sure if it would.

Those vents should technically be one way, but considering the air dryers I could see them forcing air thru them.

    Seems very possible imo.

On my 14 CM I can actually see the back window shift in and hear a bit of a howl.

I just went to an automatic car wash yesterday which has the movable dryer and I didn’t notice anything when it went past by rear window. Sometimes the air coming out of the vents seems to get stronger though when it passes the intake in front of the passenger side windshield.

They have 2 vents behind the rear seats, should be one way, but it's just a piece of rubber, have a set on the for sale shelf actually. If the rubber has torn or rotted that could explain it, or the force of the air blew them in and now that dont work like they should. Most cars have the same vent design, very common. Just a thin flap of rubber. It rots and tears easy.

To keep the dog hair and other junk from flying around, try turning HVAC to vent with blower speed on max when you enter the wash tunnel. That will draw air in through the front plenum and pressurize the cabin very slightly, which is the intended purpose of those vent valves.
