    Recently removed my front seats with srs airbag. I replaced the seats for a new pair as mine were in need of major cleaning, and these were absolutely mint. I noticed the new seats DO NOT have the air bag so my factory yellow plug with in the harness is no longer plugged in. I new this would cause the airbag light to show on the display. Anyone know of a way to get it off?

    My ideas are;

    1. pull the cluster and remove the bulb?
    2. insert some sort of resister into the plug to trick the system into thinking its plugged in.

    I'd like to go with option 2. but dont know what to use? Ive seen this method done for O2 sensonrs when people dont run cats.

    Any harm in running these new seats without the airbags? The rest of the airbags in the truck will still be fully functional right?

    This is a quote from another forum where I remember seeing this...

    "Adding a 2.2k .5w resistor is telling the harness/computer that the sensor is operating properly by mimicing the resistance the sensor provides when operating "properly".

    I just need to know what would be the proper sized resistor. I'm no electronics guru lol.

    This should be what you need.

    Do you think 2.2 ohm .5w is the appropriate size for this application?

    I don't know if it's the appropriate size but it meets the spec that you listed. I have not used one for the airbag but have used one in other vehicles to prevent DTCs.

    Can you take the sensor off the old seat and just plug it in?

    No because the sensor leads to the airbag

    I dont think those will work. Looking at the bands on the resistor it shows 2200 ohms. 2.2k. Those 2.2 ohm may lead to bad things.

    Yeah good catch. I did not order those ones on Ebay. I got some that are 2.2k ohms NOT 2.2 ohms

    Did you ever figure this out? I'm looking at some nice new seats and they don't have the airbag, but my current (original) ones do.

    I was thinking maybe there was a way to disable it via techstream somewhere? But haven't been able to find it...
