I currently purchased a 00 Toyota tundra 3.4 with both front airbags deployed over a lower ball joint accident. (Very minor)
Seat belts are tossed & for some odd reason also my seat belt buckle.
So to my question, I recently purchased new airbags from a 2003 Toyota tundra 4.7. There are in fair condition. I began to replace the steering airbag but ran Into a problem…. The plug that goes after the clock spring connector does not fit the back of the airbag….

so with that being said… will I have problems with this airbag if I find the plug for it & can I just find the plug that goes to the 2003 and connect it to my clock spring connector?
If so does anyone have a part number or link ?

This is the new airbag. It had a tiny orange bracket that goes over the connection point I just took it off before the picture s but due to it I can’t plug my stock on in.

Surprised to not see replies here. Pretty sure that 03 up had a different style airbag in some sort of way. Not sure what the difference is or how to make at work. Think it may have something to do with single vs dual stage.
I'll tag @daveeasa as I think he's done a little bit of research in the airbag department.

Did an electrical panel swap today. Just showering now. Long day.

my ‘02 has a single stage bag. My ‘05 Tacoma has the double. Stock wheels are identical just different colors.

Ok, looking this over, I don’t recognize the ‘00, looks like something even older than the single stage I have in my ‘02. I’m not sure what the options are with that. However I was told, perhaps by @assassin10000 , that it is possible to swap the charge? However if it’s been deployed then kinda SOL?

could try a later Gen clockspring with the matching connector. It’s possible that just works fine.

I haven’t done a swap yet. But I’d like to. There is a thread.

sorry I can’t help much more. All I knew was that one plug is single stage and two plugs is dual stage.

Yeah, if it's deployed then it's useless.

The ignitor or charge comes off with the 4 nuts on the back of the bag assembly.

    Removed lots of rust.
How does one know if the air bag was part of the recall if one buys an air bag from a parts car.
