So I have the Westcott 3/1 on order, and I know I’m looking at 7-8 weeks or longer…

In the mean time, I’m wanting to go ahead and order my wheels and tires since they’ll fit without it, so I can get my oem set off and sold before miles are high…

I’ve called 3 different Tire Discounters in the area and gotten 3 different answers regarding alignments…

#1 said $120 for alignment with wheels/tires, and an extra $80 when I come back with level due to extra labor rechecking it.

#2 said $120 for alignment with wheels/tires, and full alignment price after level.

#3 said $120 for alignment with wheels/tires, and no charge to adjust after the level, but that I must provide manufacturer’s alignment specs with level for them to do it.

my understanding is the Westcott 3/1 uses the same alignment specs as factory, no? I’ve never seen anyone mention new specs when getting alignment…

    Any advice appreciated!

Whenever you do front suspension work, lift, lower, replacing suspension or steering components, you should always get an alignment. No need to get an alignment until after your suspension mods are done. You can switch wheels anytime, no need for an alignment for just tire/wheel change.

Dont really think alignment is necessary with just wheels and tires. As long as they're balanced you should be fine. After you install the Westcott Desgins lift then go get your alignment. Take it to Toyota for your alignment. Probably the same price and they'll have the specs.

thanks for the info… I always figured changing the size of tires could affect alignment as well… This is why I’m no mechanic haha…

sounds good, I’ll check their pricing as well!

Like the above post, no need for alignment for just replacing wheels and tire which I have personally done and did not require an alignment. You will definitely need on after a work done on your suspension.

    As others have said...
    • Alignment isn't needed when installing new wheels & tires. Especially on a brand new truck.
    • You'll need an alignment after the spacer install. Yes, it'll have the same alignment specs as OEM after install but you have the disassemble the suspension to install the spacers & preload collar. The disassembly & reassembly process will automatically throw the truck out of alignment.
    • If you go with a 3rd party shop, especially if you're price shopping, then make sure to ask if their machine has the alignment specs for the 2022 Tundra. When I did my lift back in Feb/March...Hunter and the other alignment machine companies had not released alignment specs yet. As a result, no 3rd party shop could do it so I had to take it to the dealer. Hopefully, things have changed in the last ~4 months.

thanks for the info… I mentioned the truck year and model on the phone but they definitely didn’t have time to check system during our convo… I’ll likely just go to dealer anyways…

Find out if they have the specs as well, b/c when I went to get my alignment done @ Freehold Toyota (NJ) just over a month ago, after getting my Westcott kit installed, they also did NOT have the specs for a 2022 Tundra....yet.
My alignment was done there, but "by hand."

Planning to call them tomorrow to see... lift wont arrive for probably another 6-7 weeks (killing me) so even if they don't currently, hopefully things will change by then...

Folks are hoping your an idiot! You don’t need an alignment if you’re just swapping wheels and tires!

I got a lifetime alignment deal at Firestone. $200 and I can get it aligned as many times as I'd like as long as I own the truck. I've had lifted, lowered, stock vehicles and never had a problem. I did have to provide the alignment specs from Toyota because they didn't have them yet but they said it was no problem doing it that way.

Carefully read that contract I believe it states only 1 per 6 months or so last time I read my old one when I had my Tacoma

6mo or 6k miles per contract but I've had them done well before that. I do have a good relationship with my service center though. 5 or so vehicles with the lifetime deal, all purchased at the same location.

Update... I called my local dealership who told me their alignment system still doesn't have the specs loaded, but they have the specs and enter them manually. But was then told a 22 with the Westcott 3/1 and 35s cannot be aligned on their racks, and recommended I head down the road to the local 4WP store to have it done, for about $50 more...

Called the 2 Firestones closest to me today... #1 said he doesn't touch 35's and doesn't align "big trucks" anymore ... #2 told me they don't have the new specs either, and will only do the alignment on leveled/lifted trucks if I provide documentation from Toyota saying the OEM specs are good to go with the suspension modifications... Not sure that is something I could ever obtain...

There are a few more locations around the big city, so I'll keep calling around... The $200 lifetime alignment sounds rather enticing compared to $150 for a one and done, especially with a $20 coupon online...

You get what you pay for. In my experience firestone and others that do lifetime alignments set to stock specs, no adjustments, no accounting for lifts, adjustable UCAs, or 35+ inch tires, most are quick toe and go volume alignments. Could be different in your area, my .02
