Received a pair of jet black alpharex headlights for my 2014. Opened the box and found no instructions whatsoever. Went online and looked it up but the site link for 2014s appears to be outdated and several steps don’t line up with the headlights I received. If you’re mechanically inclined and can trace wiring you’re going to to be fine but if you’re not abs you’re not in an area with good reception you’re boned.

Next day, driver side DRL isn’t working. Check the wire, all good. There’s a relay module that feeds both the driver and passenger LED elements on the DRL and the pass side is working so not a voltage issue unless it’s a broken wire.

Called Amazon. They say they’ll notify the seller “modify-street” and wait for two days they’ll call back. No call. Call Amazon again and they said no one is picking up but they’ve started return procedure. Caveat being I’m on the hook for shipping, which I can promise you is going to be a bundle. Not happy.

Got fed up and called the seller. Get through and speak to reception who says tech is out to lunch (check is in the mail) but will call back in 30. Wait for an hour and call back. Ask what is going on. She tells me she just spoke to him and he’s calling me back in 10.
If you’re still reading this you can probably figure out where this is going. No call. No support for troubleshooting.

I don’t know about you guys but Alpharex sucks and it’s resellers suck. I get that parts break, no issue. But if your support structure sucks this bad I’m going to bet your QC ain’t much better.

In the beginning they seemed to have some headlights fail, but great customer service. Lately I’ve heard their customer service fail and their headlights not really getting any better with their experience.

I was hoping this wasn't the case. Their Nova series looks pretty nice and considerably less than the Morimoto XBs.

I’ve had the pros in for about 6 months on my 2013 without issue. I bought direct from alpha and had tech support help via text on the install. Very pleased

For the price they charge on the higher end models, you'd think they'd make house calls if issues arise. Guess everyone threw their money at them and made them rich so now they couldn't care less about customer svc.

Why not just retrofit a set of headlights? You can find fairly new used headlights on the marketplace, and projector materials are readily available. You may end up paying a little more for labor if you’re not a hands on kind of person but it’s your best bang for buck not only in output, but also peformance.

Did you look into Toyota's 2018-21 LED headlights? With @iHacker harness it's plug and play. I have them installed on my 14 sr5.

I got the sylvania restoration kit and it worked out pretty well. Lenses look clear but who knows for how long. The seller did end up reaching out and getting me a shipping label after I paid for my own label, which was refunded by fed ex. We'll see.

I'll look at the OEM LEDs. Not a fan of the price but that's really the advantage of the aftermarket as long as the support and warranty is there, which didn't end up occurring in this recent experience
