Surely someone else out here wants a DC with a sunroof and sliding down rear window. I’ve searched the forums but have not seen a question quite like this. I wanted the longer bed of the crew max to sleep in when camping and also a sun roof and rolling down window. Does anyone know if this is doable project. Also update the stock stereo. Thanks

The crew max only comes with the shortest bed offered, 5.5 feet. It is the only cab that comes with the roll down rear window.

Double cab has 4 doors but the rear are half sizes. They do not come with a roll down rear window.

The question is how much money do you want to spend? Do you and to pay someone to graft the back wall of a Crewmax onto a double cab?
Or would you rather have a crewmax stretched to add a 6.5 foot bed?

Don't need a sun roof or a roll down back window. But, the roll down back window would be nice.

I thought I needed a sunroof then for years I never use it. I actually found a platinum without one. Hard to do.

I never understood the roll down window. Mine has it but the seats don't fold so doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Last car had a sunroof. In 9 years of driving it over 235K I don't think I used it once.

I passed all kinds of materials through my ‘05 with the roll down window. I love it. I cant believe when i drive around and see fancy new fords with a tiny rear window. They even made it power. But its so tiny!

There was a fella that grafted the rear window on the DC. Haven’t seen the sunroof.

I would love to have a sunroof in my sr5. I don't know of a reputable enough company near me to do it (Houston TX). My fear is the usual, leaking water, wind noise and general proper functionality with an after market sunroof.

I'd settle for a back window with a pass through myself although a roll down would be awesome. Too much money for that mod.

I wonder if the roof is long enough to hold the sunroof and motors and stuff in a double cab and still maintain all the structure needed for rollover protection. Never taken the headliner completely down.

I had a 15 Dbl cab before this one. Would have loved a sunroof and a roll down back window. But I would have settled for at least an electric slide rear window like the Tacoma mod from years ago.

Now I needed a bigger cab and I sold the quads. So crewmax with those options it is.

There's a support that runs across the roof in both DC and CM. With the CM, the support is further back, which gives enough room in the front of the cab for a sunroof. The DC does have room for a sunroof, but it would be stupid small and people would laugh at it. It has been done with an aftermarket sunroof, but the support needs to be trimmed.

To me it seems that cars are designed with features or lack thereof for a reason. When we start modifying the engineers work for our own pleasure we tend to override and disregard whatever safety reasons were put in place. My answer to it all is leave well enough alone, if you want a sunroof and a window that slides down get a CM not a DC, that seems simple enough. But like always thats is just my .02 worth and I am always in the minority regarding these things.
