Amazon Alexa app?

Does anyone know how long the Amazon alexa app has been available for 2019 and up tundras? I had an Amazon echo auto for the last year and a half and its been awesome. I hit the mode button on my steering wheels by accident thismorning and decided to keep hitting it to cycle through the options when I saw the alexa app pop up! I think the echo auto responds faster but the trucks app has better screen display, and it will allow me to put the echo auto in my wifes vehicle!

I haven't been able to get the Alexa app to work on my truck...pretty frustrating. I keep getting errors when I go into "apps" on my head unit. Need to ask the dealership about this, but don't want to make the trip just for it, so I'll probably wait until I go in for service.

 

You need to have the Toyota app downloaded on your phone, it's been available on my 2020 since the day a bought it 1 year ago now

 

I have the Toyota App, but still get an error. I'll walk out and take a picture of the error in a few minutes and post it

 

This is what I get; first the "loading" screen, then the error. Screen grab shows I have the app. I also have "Toyota + Alexa" and "Entune" loaded on my phone.

 

Not to thread jack, but the best thing to do with the OEM radio is to get rid of it. Absolute garbage in the 2020's and the volume control is nonexistent.

 

I'll probably keep mine, even if I upgrade the other components. I get it's not the best, but I don't want to deal with none of the system integrated crap not working if I replace the HU.

 

It all carries over with the Meastro RR unit.

 

I can tell you if you replace your factory amp and speakers, it will not work with the stock head unit.

 

And that's what I'm afraid of.

 

Yeah and I'm not sure why. It must have something to do with the amp.

 

I’m gonna stick with a transistor radio on the passenger seat...

 

In that appcacroll down and you should see alexa, and hit connect.

Make sure you're connected with bluetooth and not the usb

 

Can't scroll; it's always frozen. And yes, connected via BT (not USB)
