Tried to buy a plasma cutter with the 25% off HF coupon and got denied but it was a blessing in disguise cuz I would've paid more than what's on Amazon. Never bothered to look on Amazon thinking it would be cheap shit, which it is, cheap$ but some have got decent reviews.

Anyone have actual experience with Amazon plasma cutters?

    Looking at this one:

I got a decent one from Jeg’s a few years ago. I think it was $250-300. Haven’t had trouble cutting 1/4” plate. It’s rated for 3/8 but don’t generally use stuff that heavy.

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
Most of them work fine as hobbyist grade plasma cutters. Be sure to pick one with a standardized torch and cheap consumables. I'd recommend a PT-31 torch(or other PT series)... the consumables are dirt cheap and you'll be eating them up pretty fast unless you have shop grade dried air. I actually ordered a cheap tig/stick/plasma combo off Amazon and was pleasantly surprised, even the dc tig worked decently.

For $1500 you can get a desktop plasma table minus the torch, but if you are committed to water then take luck

The guys on Tacoma World speak highly of the Prime Weld units. That’s enough for me, I’ll be getting one as soon as I have a project for it.

As far as spending $10k on a waterjet? You can order a whole lot of parts from SendCutSend for $10k.

Cheap shit, yes! Well at least until you buy 50' of 8ga SO cord, male/female ends for the cord and a male for the plasma unit. Then the cheap starts to fade a bit. Unless of course you already have the 240 extension cord. Luckily I did!

This one you listed looks to have very similar features as the one Mike reviewed. Just that it’s $150 more but also has more reviews. Gamble at your own risk :spending:

Agreed on the YouTube University flunkees which is why I'm inclined to go off of real world experience from any of the fellas here before I pull the trigger on one.

The PrimeWeld was up there in price compared to the Bestarc.... fuck it, just pulled the trigger on the Bestarc. Gonna take a month to get here so I guess it's coming straight from China :fingerscrossed:

    Now, to get a compressor....

I wasn't looking for a plasma cutter, but the one you linked is only $204 right now. I might just order one at that price.

The one I linked is the 50A version. It redirects you to the 45A version. Not sure if that really matters. Maybe if you’re pushing 1/2” or 5/8”. 45 would be fine for me. Might get one too :fistbump:

Back in the 90's, I used to use a couple of 3-phase plasma cutters when I worked in the boatyards in the UK. I'm not sure how much more advanced they are nowadays but I should imagine they are still subject to the same issues with tips. Cutting 3/8ths and 1/2" steel plates all day long was probably more heavy duty than most on here would encounter but I'd be inclined to advise two things - buy the best you possibly can and avoid Amazon if you don't want shit.
