I recently traded in my 2021 Tacoma and removed most of the stereo system I had installed in it. One of the things I had bought to install my system was a PAC LPHTY02 T harness. I have the large touch screen 9 speaker system, non JBL. I am curious to know if anyone else has installed aftermarket amps using a T harness, if so what did you use? Crutchfield as well as a multitude of GOOGLE searches have yielded no results. I really don't want to spend up to $100 for something I already have. The only thing I could find was a website auto harness house that lists a harness for 19-23 Toyota's. I am only assuming at this point that I can reuse my PAC T harness.
Also curious to see if anyone has reused or replaced their center channel speaker? Looking at the wiring diagram it appears if the center channel speaker is wired in parallel with the front speakers as a dual voice coil. I'll probably just disconnect mine so that it doesn't increase the load on my amp and produce more wattage than that factory speaker can handle. A speaker that size doesn't really handle a lot of power to begin with.
My only dislike with this new larger screen is that there's only a split screen view on Apple Carplay. I really liked having the radio display, weather, and navigation map split screen that my 21 Tacoma did. Now I have to go through the menu to display what song is playing on Satellite radio and go back to the navigation screen.

I wasn't really planning on keeping the center channel, I've got the JBL A pillars to install and going to use a 3 way set up in the front. Because the way everything is wire with the center speaker, will just have to unhook it. It does no good even in the current configuration as the sounds are left and right side biased, can't even tell there's a center speaker there. Did you use the Tacotune harness? I may just pull out my head unit and confirm the plugs are the same, would really suck to have everything I need to install the system and then find out the plugs aren't compatible.

No, I used the connectors I listed in my post I referred you to. Both connections I used are cheaper and higher quality than TT.

The head unit is easy to get out so would recommend testing your harness first and see if it fits and is pinned out correctly

Taco tunes and maybe a couple other vendors sell a 17' PnP harness to add an amp. Plugs into the factory plug behind the head unit, has 17' of 18 ga wires that you run to the amp (usually behind the rear seat) and then 17' of 16 ga wires to loop back from the amp output to plug into the connector behind the head unit that feeds the speakers. This makes it simple to add an amp. Several of us have used these with 5-channel amps and added a subwoofer at the same time. These changes help a lot. Even better it you continue and replace the factory speakers. There is a mega thread about all this here: 3rd Gen non JBL sound system Upgrade Info | Toyota Tundra Forum (tundras.com)

The taco tunes harness is a great buy in my opinion. It’s ready to go 17’ ft . The only thing I wish they did to it so to wrap it, but you can do it yourself easy enough. after that its all down hill .
