I have religiously run Amsoil fluids in every vehicle I have owned,
engine oil , transmission and differential because its the best and have had outstanding results

I am About to change out all the fluids in my 2016 Tundra and do the Amsoil switch over.

My local transmission guy (who also loves Amsoil products) said that the Tundra transmission is actually best off with the stock Toyota WS oil. He said they work better with the stock WS fluid. I am trying to get more information from him and others.

Anyone running Amsoil in their Tundra Transmission have any issues, or heard anything similar?

    thanks

No issues. Amsoil is pretty fastidious about their stuff, they wouldn't recommend their product if they didn't feel it was up to manufacturer standards. For example, they don't offer a transfer case oil for the 3rd Generation Tundras, 2015 and newer.....

Toyota WS is a semi synthetic made by Exxon Mobil . It's nothing special ,
I switched my 2019 over to Amsoil signature series and noticed an improvment in shift quality . I have always loved Amsoil ATF and gear oils

    Not nearly enough room here!
I've been using Amsoil in everything I own with an engine since 1990, including my 2010 Tundra's engine, trans, diffs and transfer case(83,000 miles, no work, only maintenance). Our 04 Pilot has 358,000 issue-free miles on it; Amsoil since new.

The transfer cases in the 2008s and the 2020s are different and require different fluids from each other.

That " transmission guy" seems like its just his opinion about ws fluid being better

Where as there is actual information online proving the fact that toyota ws is a semi synthetic made by mobil for toyota .

Its common knowledge that a full synthetic fluid will protect better and last longer than a semi-synthetic fluid.

I've always believed Semi- Synthetic oil is produced by sitting a quart of full synthetic in the warehouse with regular oil!:D

Where it concerns kinematic viscosity shift over unit time I would tend to agree.

Where I disagree is contact wear and oxidation resistance because those are attributes of the additive package. And I cant find those values for WS, from the manufacturer, on the interwebs.

Besides... there's no oxygen to be had in that system. It's all nitrogen after a few miles.

As long as it's the proper viscosity and has the appropriate approvals, I have never heard of an engine, transmission or diff failing because of brand of fluid.
Run Amsoil, Mobil1, Shell, Walmart or whatever.

14+ transfer cases are electromagnetic units from Borg Warner. They use a 75w fluid.

I just bought 4 gallons to change out my transmission with. I'm currently at 36k and have seen many good reports.

For what it's worth I have also been a dealer for the past 10-11 years. Have been using the stuff in everything since I could drive. I haven't had any issues yet. Like the previous dealer I'm not much of a sales person. I bought the dealership to get things at cost and extend that to family and friends. If anyone is interested at getting it at cost let me know.

Same here . Changing fluid to amsoil don't expect magic to happen . The benefits are strictly that it withstands heat far greater than any other fluid on the market and intern will extend the service interval as well .

To anyone who changes any oil over to amsoil and claims it runs smoother of feels better is just experiencing the placebo effect imo.

Zachly. Have no doubt drop for drop its a superior fluid to most of the junk out there.

But even that stuff is capable of functioning in a drama free environment(daily driving).

Long term, towing and the fact its bottled and blended in the states is worth the extra couple bucks to me.

its probably the fresh fluid effect... if they changed it to fresh WS it would do the same thing

According to the two dealers I've talked to, it is different. They do not do a complete flush (12 quarts), only pan drain and fill (4.5 quarts). This is likely due to not having transmission cooler lines and being able to hook up to their "flush" machine. I'll be draining the 4.5 quarts and adding Amsoil beginning soon. I'll likely change 3-4 times every 10,000 miles or so. After that, I'm not going to worry about it for at least 100,000 miles.

Sorry....I believe you're correct. No transmission cooler on the 19's +. I have a 2020 and no, I do not have a cooler.

ahhh yeah... I would imagine there’s still an “unofficial” way to get more of it out, maybe with a mytivac?
