Is anyone familiar with the Anderson connectors? I am looking to install one on the Tundra as well as wife's Pilot (it has the worst location design in history) so that we don't have to get too dirty and deep into the engine bay just trying to find the positive and negative.

I am royally confused by the specs that are listed on their website: <LINK>
    SB50 vs SB120 vs SB175 vs SB350
I know they are differed by amps, but is there any indication which would be more suitable for a 5.7L V8 and a 3.6 V6 (non-TT) engine?
Original thought was to go big and call it a day and get the top of the line, but sometimes I wonder if that's an overkill and potentially harm the vehicles?

Thought and suggestions are welcome and thank you in advance for sharing your idea.

We run them on our work trucks and trailers for connecting winches, fuel transfer pumps, etc. We use the SB350 because of the amp draw on our hiflow diesel transfer pump. there shouldn't be an issue with overkill.

Do you remember or know what gauge size wires your company were running using the SB350?

they were different gauge wires depending on what we wiring. The fronts of our work trucks were wired for 12K# winches, the beds were wired for 3K# winches for ATVs and Snowmobiles, and then we had connecters run out by the hitch for our trailers and fuel transfer pumps. I think the smallest accesory we used was 12 gauge wire up to 1/0 from the battery/power distribution block terminal. The main thing for us was to have the same consistent connectors so we just went with the biggest amp rated connector to cover all of our needs. it may be overkill for your power needs, but they aren't that much more money than the lower rated models. At the end of the day, the Anderson connectors are a breeze to hook up and have been bulletproof for our needs, and we operate in all four seasons in northern MN.

    Use them.
They're used on all sorts of industrial gear because they're simple, effective, and equipment operator Billy Bob Knuckle Dragger doesn't break too many of them per year. Anderson connectors are amp rated in "UL rated current" which means in real world usage they see way more current than listed before something gets exciting. Your car battery will melt before an SB350 will have any issue.
Want something bulkier and can handle high amps, consider tweco style welding connectors, they can handle the load and it's easier to cross the positive/negative to spice up your day.

Right now I run a X2 31M battery in the front as well as a Group 48 for the Pilot.
I think SB350 would fit both fine....
The Pilot, for some reason, engineer though it was a good idea to put the battery "in" an enclosure, the tuck it under the intake pipe.... like, what are you trying to hide for the hell?!
Getting a Anderson wired up for the Pilot would save me and wife headache later down the road, not having to try and get "into" the engine bay to jump that battery.

Thanks for the input, guess I will just go with SB350 and hook it up to 1/0 AWG wires just for the hell of it....lol

I might suggest taking some measurements and heading over to powerwerkx and using the “design your own cable” feature. It’s really not that expensive and when you take your time/tooling into consideration it’s actually a pretty sweet deal. Just had them make me an extension cord for a portable solar panel using an Anderson connector.

I have half a mind of doing that. Me and a friend of mine do work on our own cars, but his Anderson was from some 10+ years ago, so no help.
Buying good gauge cable is the next thing, plus the other side. I looked at a packaged set on Amazon for under $100 (non-Anderson) with 30ft 1AWG cable, but 1. Don't need it right now today, could be done within the month and 2. piecing it together will certainly net me lower than that, plus, do I really need 30ft of 1AWG cable? Probably not.

Yeah, I would take a close look at costs and how much you’ll actually use vs. waste. They obviously buy everything in bulk so can keep costs somewhat down. And at least you know you’ll be getting genuine anderson connectors along with true AWG OFC wires

Very true. What I don't need/hate is cheap knock-offs. I have my share of that failure already so no thanks.
Besides, after install, need to educate wife on how to use it in case, this will for sure make it way easier.

Used their stuff before and it's nice. The 1/0 gauge cable is very pliable and easy to work with. Shipping is great and I think the prices are solid. And it's USA made.

Anderson connectors are fantastic. I use them all the way down to the little 15 amp size.

I’d recommend a welding shop for quality heavy gauge wire that is nice and limber.
