    Hey ya'll,

I have a WiFi hotspot in my 1794 that I installed myself and use my cell phone and other devices on that while traveling. I've turned Android Auto off on my phone as it doesn't seem to be able to connect to the truck and hotspot at the same time. So I'm wondering if there is a way to connect the truck's navigation/Android Auto to my phone using BlueTooth? TIA.

ps: sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't find it.

I believe it uses BT and WiFi together.

Can't speak to the Tundra but just recently bought the wife a 23 Acura RDX. It has BT Apple/Android. And it works just like if it was plugged in. If connected through BT, your nav from your phone should show on the truck screen.

Wireless Android Auto uses the wifi AND Bluetooth. You can try plugging it in by USB.

Best I can tell it uses BT for phone calls and contacts sync etc. But uses WiFi direct (from truck to phone) for the Android Auto data connection.

I thought I read somewhere that it's possible to have the truck connect to house WiFi, say when in the garage. I don't find such a thing and am not sure I see the use model from Toyota's perspective. From my personal perspective, that would be handy as I could have the truck use the cellular WiFi I've installed in the truck to maintain internet connection after the Toyota Connect period ends. Just thinking...
