Bought the 2001 Tundra a year ago, just looking for something I could get around in with snow or hunting. I had a leaf spring break and went to replace them... when I dropped the spare I was happy because the cable was clean and it came down perfectly. Then I got under the truck. (see pics)

Looks like its been sprayed under factory recall in the past. In the picture it looks like the factory undercoat ‘fix’ is flaking off the underlying rust. Many stories from others coming through here say the recall was sprayed right over existing rust. Its safe to drive until it isn’t.

Wow. So when you say a leaf spring broke, what caused it? Seeing the hole in the top pic makes me leery of where else it's gone through and what your suspension parts look like...

I do not beleive that truck is safe to drive. There are holes in the frame. That thing would crumble in a collision.

I would drive it till parts start falling off
Post #2 is the best advice though.

Since I'm here, isn't it natural to try and do something better today than you previously did? Learn from your mistakes? All things considered, rust is a serious problem and cars have been rusting for a century now. The auto industry has made tremendous amounts of advancements in many areas, but rust is still available at no extra charge.

I would only drive that as a slow going, off road beater or maybe if I was on a farm and needed something to use as a utility truck.

To see you were burned bad like that makes one's stomach turn. Don't know if it's possible to sue the dealership or person for selling you an unroadworthy/unsafe vehicle, but I would look into it if you can't afford another vehicle.

That's pretty gnarly and a lot of cracking on stress points on the frame. If it was strictly a hunting/OHV, I'd would run it but not on a public roads.

These are pics of the spare tire carrier under the bed. Yes, it looks pretty rotten and I would relocate the spare tire to prevent it from falling loose on the highway and smashing some other car or person. But as to the frame, unless I'm missing something, it doesn't appear to be un-driveable. At least by Northeast salt and rust States standards.
