I’ve read all the “cut and program keys” threads I can find, but…

I got 2 keys with my truck. One is too worn to open the doors, but I didn’t know it until the fob died. It’s fun breaking into your own truck.
I have a new flip key and techstream to try and program both.
My plan was to find the key code on the door lock mechanism -I don’t want to make a duplicate of a worn down key- but the mechanism does not have a key code.
Where else can I (easily) find the key code?! This is a dot key on a 2007.
    Thanks in advance

I don't know about programming, but I know what you mean, about wearing down the key. I can unlock and turn on the truck, just can't lock the truck. Did you try wiggling the key up and down while trying to turn it.

This was a couple of weeks ago, but I moved that key every way I could, tried 2 other batteries in the fob, and finally resorted to a air bag and metal rod.
A deputy got involved, but had no better luck, co-worker called AAA, but I got bored waiting and finally got in about 10 minutes before they would have gotten there. This was took about 7 hours total.

This should have been a master key, but it’s never unlocked the tailgate. I assumed it had been replaced. Nope, just worn out after 180k.

A couple of ways - A dealer can provide the code on most models by showing the VIN and proof of ownership,
or - there are a number you tube videos showing where the key code is located on door lock cylinders -
google: Toyota key code by VIN

Did you check BOTH drivers and passenger locks?
    Dealer no help with VIN?

No lock on passenger side. Nothing behind where the lock would be.

Hmmmm If dealer can't help using the VIN, you might be SOL. As a last resort, you might try an automotive locksmith.
