PICTURE #2 AND PICTURE #3Pic #2.jpg Pic #3.jpgSorry, can't figure this picture thing out on how to post them. The above post I have a forum picture for exactly how the instructions say to install the sway bar. That is WITHOUT a washer between the nut and the sway bar. But in the other pictures I am showing what seems to be how the vast majority install it and per every aviation and transport rule one would always put a washer under a moving part. Anyone know why Toyota wants it the first picture way and has anyone had any isuues putting the washer under the nut? From what I understand the extra washers are for a Tundra that does not include the towing package but for the life of my can't figure that out either.

Pretty sure mine has the washer on it and it originally came off a TRD Sport which had it on from the factory........

Funny to see this called out, remember going through this when installed my old one..

Instructions definitely are clear that the washer is not supposed to go there.. However, I came to the same conclusion and added the washer. I didn’t like the sway bar being butted up against the nylon lock nut. I don’t see any negative draw backs from adding the washer there.

Looks like they were updated Oct 2018 to add the washer. Now I'll have to look at mine.

I'll have to check mine now too. I think I followed the directions and left them off. :anonymous:

I checked mine and it has washers on both sides. I installed this past spring and the updated instructions called for both washers to be installed.
