    I have read every thread I could find and cannot get the broken stud out of the antenna base on my 17 CM. The previous owner broke it off and it looks like tried to super glue it back in. I called the dealer and they want $170 for the assembly and 2 hours of labor to replace. I am moderately handy but don't want to mess with running new assembly to back of radio. Is there something I can do to just replace the component that that the broken stud is stuck in? Can I cut the wires and just replace the assembly that connects to the antenna without running everything back to the radio. So frustrated...

    Can you drill a hole in it and use an extractor? Also do you have any pics?

    I've drilled all the way through basically, even got the left hand drill bit from harbor freight.

    take a hex bit metric or SAE what ever fits so tight you have to hammer it in. Soak it with WD40 Liquid Wrench, let it for about 30 mins. Then back it out.

    From your pic I can't tell what is going on.
    It there still mast in there of did you hit the threads?
    Maybe heat the mast up with a soldering iron (melting the super glue) and then try a left hand twist drill bit to get it out.
    Or soak it in WD40 or penetrating oil.

    Maybe...........

    If you have to replace it;
    Don't forget to buy a mast too.

    How to get the base out, I can't find an interior part video.

    Alright I've given up on extracting the bolt. I will have to order the new assembly and see if some shop will do it cheaper than the dealer. Appreciate everyone's help and input.

    Hey OP just ran into the same problem as you. Did you end up ordering the assembly and getting this installed? Trying to figure out my next move.

    Thanks.

    I ended up just getting a new shorty antenna and screwed it into the hole I drilled out from the super glued mast that was stuck in there. It doesn't fit perfect and but I'm just being careful with it, the radio reception is good though. Never could get the original superglued mast out.
