None yet but plenty to come.
    Calling electrical people...

I’m wondering if I can take an easy way out to replace my antenna base and splice in the wires together ranther than run the new one all into the cab? The white interior portion has me baffled if I can do it?

Go to your local Home Depot or Lowe's, and get a couple of "F Type" cable ends and a coupler. If you are not familiar on how to do this there are plenty of videos on You Tube. The cable should say what size it is to get the correct ones.

    good luck, john

Would be smart to use some heat shrink material to protect the new connectors & coupling. Electrical tape may not last as needed.

If you can find the F type connector that fits around the cable yes but you will also need to get a stripper and compression tool to install the connector.

You will have to prep the other side of the cut wire the same way then get a coupler to connect the two. Basically connecting 2 coax cables together.

+1 for using heatshrink; if not it'll rust very quickly..it's cheap insurance.

Get a Shakespeare marine PL-258-cp-g center pin splice connector kit for $13 on ebay. Cut the wires straight and clean, don't pull back the insulation at all, the splice kit will do the work for you.

I did same yesterday and reception is solid.
