Is there anyone out there who has had a negative experience with the Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires? I had planned on going from the Toyo AT3's to the Nitto RG's, but I can only find people recommending the Wildpeaks. Please let me know your thoughts. I only want to hear from owners, past or present, of these tires. None of this "my buddy says", or "what I've read" stuff. First-hand experience only. Thanks!

Only complaint I’ve had with mine is flat spotting after the truck sits for a couple days. But that evens out after a mile or so of driving. No other issues in the 3-ish years I’ve had them.

Nitto ridge grappler owner here, and I can speak for them. They are a fantastic tire, absolutely no issues at all. Smooth ride and quite considering how aggressive the tread is. I know alot of tundra owners recommend the wikdpeaks, sounds like they are a great tire too.

Yeah, I had the RG's before this set. I really miss them. I just do a lot of exhaustive research prior to purchasing. I was considering the KO2's but started reading a lot of negative feedback on the new style. My last set of BFG AT's were 10 or so years ago.

I used to run BFGs. They were good when they first came out. They must have changed the rubber composition because the last set I had sucked. The rubber on the tread cracked when it got below half worn. I went to an AT that Michelin was making. That was great but they stopped making that tire. I then changed to the tire that Michelin made to replace the AT that they discontinued. It was great for street but sucked off road in the snow. I changed to a Hancook AT. It had great traction but was loud and I could feel every traction block. They rode real rough. I then bought Open Range ATs at Les Schwab. They are a great tire. They are smooth and pretty quiet for an AT. They work real good in snow also. They are a little spendy. I have them on both of our 4Runners and the F250. I decided to try the Falken Wildpeaks on my Tundra. They are every bit as good as the Open Range tires from Les Schwab. They are quiet, smooth, have good traction and the tread wear seems to be good for an AT and they are cheaper than the Open Range AT. I will be putting Falken Wildpeaks on all of our vehicles from this point on.

I have Wildpeak At3’s. Absolutely no problems with them. A little on the heavy side for their size compared to other AT’s but they’ve been great in all conditions. I haven’t experienced any flat-spotting. Also very quiet and smooth ride.
Why are you switching from the Toyo’s? I’ve heard a lot of good things about those tires as well.

I had AT3Ws installed at the dealer before I picked up my new 2022 TRD Pro Sequoia. Ran 2 sets of KO2s and 1 set of Wrangler Duratracs on my previous Sequoia (2012) that I owned since new. All were driven in the same environment (Alberta, Canada) with some moderate off-roading year-round (mud, sand, snow and ice), and usually drove about 14000 kms per year (probably 90% paved, 10% gravel / off-road).

My AT3Ws have 5000km on them with 2 months (Feb/Mar) of -10C to -20C winter snow/ice driving and now spring/summer temps. Have to say that between the three, I'd rank these top. The KO2s had really good ice traction while newish (less that 10-15k KMs) but that dropped off quickly after that with significant cracking of the rubber after 3 years and 30-40k kms. The Duratracs held up much better in terms of consistency, but the initial ice traction was less than that of the KO2s, although the deep snow traction was much better. On the road, the Duratracs are initially louder than the KO2, but the KO2s get quite loud with time.

The AT3W have equal or better ice traction than the both, equal deep snow traction to the Duratracs, and are the quietest of the three on the highway. Please note that these are just my initial impressions in the first 5000kms.

Overall, I'm very happy with the Falken Wildpeaks AT3Ws.

    Hope that helps

I’ve had them for 36k miles now, and they’ve been the best AT tire I’ve run in 12 years. Had Wrangler DuraTracs on my 2008 for two cycles, got 75k miles on the first set, only 50k on the second set. Both were really slippery in wet pavement, and the second set would never fully balance (hence the shorter life span). Moved on to BFG KO2s and found them ok but not great on the really greasy wet snow we get in the PNW and worthless in the slimy mud around my property.
The Wildpeaks on my have been great. They ride quiet, wear evenly, have done great in all the same conditions where the others didn’t do as well. The Toyo AT3 weren’t out yet when I got these or I would’ve considered them too, but at this point unless the price is ridiculous when it’s time to replace these I’d have a hard time not getting them again.

Have about 20k on Wildpeaks. They are very good in all conditions on and off road I’ve used them in. Wear is even and they look to be long lasting. Mine are LT275/70’s on 18” rims. Quiet on the highway. I do get minor flat spotting that goes away quickly. I’d have no hesitation buying them again.

I've got a set of Wildpeaks on my 03 4Runner V8. They are fantastic tires. 20k on them now and now issues at all. My only problem is that they have gone up in price about 35% since I bought them. I wanted to put a set on my Tundra but the Wildpeaks are now more than BFG ATs.

Not only inflation but I think the word is out on just how good these tires are.

I've just had a crappy experience with them. I'm in South Texas, so no snow really. They are just horrible in the rain. I have no confidence in them due to hydroplaning as often as they do. I will never purchase this tire again.

I had wildpeaks on my Ram 2500 (Cummins) only complaint was in wet weather they liked to spin. Heavy right foot played a factor for sure but even in light acceleration they would break loose easy. Currently rocking 35x12.5x17 RG rain the performance blows away the falkens and never really off-roadbed my ram with them but off-roaders the Tundra with the RG and they are great. My 2c.

I should add that I'm concerned about the overall weight of the wheel. I'm currently running 295/65r20 tires. I'm going to 37x12.5r17's. My current combined weight is 109lbs. The WP AT3's are 82.3lbs/ea. the Nitto RG's are 81.5. Barely any difference. I've also toyed with running TG G2's again (75lbs). I just like those tires. lol. I'm looking at either the Method 705's (26.4lbs) or XD Rockstar 3's (33.6lbs). I don't care as much about fuel economy as I do about peppy response and overall stopping power. even with this setup, my brakes feel squishy. I'm running the Powerstop Z37 or whatever. No bueno, in my opinion. 70% of my miles are highway, 20% city, and 10% trails. That being said, half of the time the truck is on trails. I drive a lot and like to be comfortable when I can.

With 37’s the only thing that’s gonna give you “peppy” is a regear on the rear end.

I’ve never hydroplaned in my WP’s, but we get long drawn out for days or weeks rain, not 2” in 2 hours kind of shit.

    Too many, but not enough....
Are these worth it over KO2s when you consider they are 53 bucks more expensive per tire?

KO2s turn into slicks in any form of sticky mud, so I'd say yes.

Fair, but considering I hardly ever see mud or rain in the desert, probably not worth in my case I guess?

Heavier than others w/similar features. Wore fantastic. Got loud at about 40k which isn’t terrible. When they were $70 cheaper per tire they were a steal. Given the current market and availability of everything, I’d look for something lighter, but that’s me.

I've been throwing around that exact idea for a year now. I'm okay with where the truck is now but realize I really don't want to lose anymore. I also never keep my truck immobile for two days in a row because I use it for work and only have Sundays off. I'm a land suveyor for work. All in all, I drive pretty chill. I havent ruled it out, but this exact purchase is coming out of my gear fund...

You haven't had any problems otherwise? Also, my company pay for half of the tires. Cost isn't a huge factor for me.

I've had them for about 5 years on my 4Runner. Fantastic tire as others have said. So good in fact that I have considered replacing my perfectly new tires that came with the truck for these
