I searched, and didn't find much on here, so I thought I would ask.

I've also spent a combined 25 minutes on hold today trying to speak to a Toyota Service Department to ask what the cost of a typical oil change and tire rotation is for my Certified 2022 Tundra Platinum (synthetic oil and all).

I have gathered this much on the cost of the plan:
    CLASS TWO SYNTHEIC OIL
    3 YEARS 35,000 MILES $450.00
    3 YEARS 45,000 MILES $790.00
    4 YEARS 45,000 MILES $800.00
    4 YEARS 60,000 MILES $1,135.00
    5 YEARS 55,000 MILES $935.00
    5 YEARS 75,000 MILES $1,330.00

Anyone think this is a good and justified expenditure? I put 15,000 miles on a year, on average

I would bet those prices are for a plan. The plan being 10K mikes or what ever it is now for new trucks. One would have to see if this includes tire rotation too. Also see if there is a X amount times per year too?? I change my oil every 5000 and rotate tires or six months what ever comes first. On my 21 it is a little over 100 dollars with a discount my service bud throws in for me, if I need a filter it is close to 130 and that is twice a year basically.

Yes. These are the plan prices, and yes, it includes tire rotations at dealership:

So quick math, if an oil change is every 5,000 miles, then for 75,000 miles you will require 15 oil changes. At around $100 an oil change is $1500. Oil change at $130 is $1950 for 15 oil changes. Not including tire rotations (usually cheap) but there is still money savings. For me I plan to keep the truck for as long as possible, and I’ll probably drive 75k miles in 5 years. So I’d benefit from it. If you sell/trade every few years, might not be worth it.

It also depends on how close the dealer is to you, and if you trust them to actually change the oil and to change it right?

The dealer told me that my oil changes should be every 10,000 miles, due to the synthetic oil used for this truck. I am assuming that, if I wanted to change it every 5000 miles, that would not be covered under the plan, because it is only half the mileage that is recommended for that vehicle.

Ha,, yup I read what you posted. Find out if it is only a certain number a year too. Like posted above. At over 100 dollars a pop that is for 8 Qs for every 10 grand in miles.,,, with unlimited times per year?? Is the question

all Tundras are 10,000 miles now for recommended oil changes

260 for twice a year x3 years=780, 10k miles every six months would be 60K for 3 years.

^^^Good for you,,, every 5 is our motto!:). Not 7. 5000

    Info was for the OP

Fact is every US sold Toyota vehicle is recommended by Toyota to change oil at 10k now.

Sad that you even have to say that, but totally true.

On a side note, I brought mine in for its 10,000 service and I put a small mark on one tire to see if they actually rotate as stated. When I got the truck back the mark was still on the same tire position and the service advisor, her manager, and the tech all stated that the rotation was completed and they totally ignored me saying that I marked the tire and refused to look at the mark.

They said that to "make me happy" they will "rotate them again" and I asked to watch. The manager watched with me and the tech had to use a rubber mallet on EACH TIRE to remove them from the vehicle and when I stated that he wouldn't need a hammer if the tires were just rotated, he told me that "they get stuck very easily."

    Total tw@twaffles!

You’re completely right. I was reading another thread on oil changes and had it in my head it was every 5k miles. For every 10k It would really depend on the price at the dealer.

I bought the 5 year 75k miles maintenance from Jerry. By the way, Toyota has 1 year "grace period" , so maintenance coverage is pretty much 6 years 75k miles.

My question is besides oil changes at 10k miles and tire rotations every 5k miles, what else does this Maintenance Plan cover?

In the terms and conditions, it says it covers the "recommend maintenance" .

My biggest question is if the Spark Plugs change will be covered at 60k miles which is the recommended milage per official maintenance schedule. This is going to be one expensive service... Probably costing around $509-700 if done at the dealer.

I asked my service advisor, and he says spark plugs change isn't covered. And doesn't know why, just that the plan supposedly won't pay for it.

I don't want to accept his answer, as legal Terms and Conditions clearly states that ALL regular maintenance will be covered. I expect spark plugs covers too! As well as the Air filters and Cabin air filters.

Could you guys ask your local toyota service advisor if Maintenance plan covers spark plugs change at 60k miles?

    Thx!

Yep, 5k miles oil changes aren't covered by the Maintenance plan.

They cover oil changes every 10k miles, and checkup/tire rotation every 5k miles.

So we will have to pay every other oil changes to get oil changed every 5k miles.

I tried to negotiate with my server advisor for 5k discounted oil change because they'll have truck lifted anyway for tire rotation but he won't budge. Wants to charge me $120 for every oil change!

I worked in a Toyota maintenance department in the early nineties. We took pride in servicing vehicles, and there was no such thing as a 10 min oil change. Back then, Toyota's were a different beast. We rarely seen vehicles other than oil changes, strut swaps, and tune ups at the required mileage. In fact, it got so bad (or boring) we contracted with Chrysler/Dodge to help with their backlog. Kinda funny seeing all these dodges in a Toyota service department.

Now to my point. I think that there are mostly very good mechanics at the dealership. Do I think 10k oil changes on any motor a good idea (let alone a turbocharged one)? No. One has to ask yourself why companies are suggesting this.
