*Changed oil and checked diff fluid levels. Front ok. Rear ok. Transfer case was 1/2 quart low.

I put in the Toyota 75W and it was almost a 1/2 can.

Truck is essentially new with 2700 miles.

Anyone else have an issue with the transfer case fluid level being low when new?

*yeah...oil change at 2700 miles: Planning long road trip next month. And this truck sat on dealer lot for a year before I got it.

Stupid question: is this quick and easy to check? If so, I can do so and let you know.

I was 2 quarts low in my tacoma transmission. Its hard to check and fill that at operating temp.

get a 10mm allen socket, 24 mm wrench or socket and ratchet, and a regular 3/8 extension.

Front diff is 10 mm allen, transfer is 3/8 extension, rear is 24 mm.

    remove refill/check plug.
fluid level should either be barely dribbling out, or within a 1/4" in on a small screw driver used as dipstick.

Does fluid temp affect fluid level though?
