Hope you don't mind a short bit of lead up story here...

A couple weeks back took my Tundie in for an alignment and to have them bump my front bilstein 5100s up one level. Naturally, the shop managed to break one of the retainer clips for the coil perches, not a big deal, except due to covid etc... getting new clips appears to be a bit of a pain in the ass. The shop is upset naturally because not only do they have to fix it, but I'm out my truck and its stuck in one of their bays until they can get the part. I'm patient, but after a lil bit I really want my tundra back. The shop has been really good to me so I says hey, I see these new OME nitrocharger shocks online, why don't we get a set of those and see how good they are. They're happy, I think I'm going to be happy, all's good.

So, come closing time the next day, I go to pick up my truck, and the shop owner is looking sheepish. He takes me to my truck, and its lost 3-4 inches in height and is stinkbugged something awful. Apparently the new shocks, which are supposed to give a fixed 2.5ish inch lift, have the coil perches at a different level and require you to get a set of coils with them. So, now I'm waiting on parts for my bilsteins, springs for the OMEs and not wanting to drive my truck for fear of damaging the shocks which appear to be near full compression.

I'm not worried about the money involved luckily, I know they'll make right by me, but at this point I'm ready to slap the bilsteins back on asap and be done with it, BUT, I really want to know if these nitrochargers are any good.

So, has anyone tried these OME Nitrochargers (90018) out? Did you have to get new coils? If so, which ones (2612, 2613 or 2614) and how much lift did it give your Tundie?

I have the nitro chargers on my tundra, ordered thru toytec and yes I chose the 612 springs and had them pre assembled.

I got I would say right at or just under 3 inches of lift from the OME shocks.

Yes, OME spring perch appears to be the same height as stock and uses a longer and larger coil to do the lifting, whereas the 5100s do so like an adjustable coilover and lift via preloading the coil.

I believe he is using stock springs, so essentially no lift.

How do you like the shocks overall? I'm getting old so I'm trying to get as close to a cadillac ride as possible with a level/lift.

I think the shop should have known, OME gets lift from the coils, the shocks are just built to match the extended travel and spring rate.

I have run OME on several vehicles, sturdy and good stuff. Ive have their suspension on my 06 4Runner for many years and 70k miles, still rides great.

Do know that OME lifts generally run a little high. Expect to get about 2.75 + from the coils listed as "2.5". Buy they do hold up really well, no sagging on my 4runner after years of driving, hauling, towing.

OME is on the firm side. Use the "light" coils unless you have a heavy bumper and winch. Even the light coils are about 10% stiffer than stock. They are firm and controlled like most lifted coil overs. For a caddy type ride, you probably want to look at kings or falcon $$$$. Those can be dialed in to ride great, but require shock rebuilds every 40-50k miles for a street truck, and potentially much sooner if you do any off roading.
