So ever since being a kid in the 80’s I’ve always loved the looks of the roll bar. The only problem is of course that you basically lose the entire bed in the process... At least with the old style roll bars.

I was doing some research this morning and I saw the Vanguard roll\bed bar and it looks pretty cool IMO. I like that I can keep my tonneau cover and everything.

So onto my question, anyone have a roll\bed bar and what do you think?

I love the looks of a roll bar also (I grew up in the 80's when it was a thing). There are not many options available. One reason is that there were law suits when the "roll bars" did not provide as much protection in a roll over as was assumed, so they started calling them light bars. And as with everything else, fashions change over time and most people now just don't care for them. It does look like it is making a bit of a comeback.

Go Rhino Sports Bar 2.0 is one of the options I am looking at.

I’m taking the thread over:eek:. Here’s my custom ‘roll bar’ aka headache rack aka goat rack.

Edit, a bed rack also comes in handy for hauling longer-than-bed things. Which makes any truck kooler

@jstyle I think you should do whatever you feel makes your truck badass/effective for you. And then show us what you decide to do haha

This is why I grew up loving roll bars and partially why my tundra is black

    Back to the future truck!
I believe it was an 85' straight axle, but I wanted roll bars too, just because of that truck!!!

Close enough. This is a 2014 Tacoma SR5 T-Force Edition. We bought the truck new, photo above was just a few months back. Still super clean. We have several newer Toyotas, but this truck has always been my favorite. My youngest son drives it. We passed it down from his Mom when he turned 16. Now he's a freshman in college, but knows that I get the truck back when he graduates.

My first Toyota was an 84 xtra cab grey probably the best off road vehicle I’ve ever owned, never found a place it wouldn’t go and the solid front axle was bulletproof
