I’m starting to investigate adding a mobile hotspot to my 2019 Tundra. I am on Verizon, and wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with devices or Verizon with adding WiFi hotspot to a tundra.

I just use my phone as a hotspot. Option was free with my plan.
I also have unlimited data so it makes it easy.

I don’t like how my iPhone struggles with runnin as a hot spot, so thought I would see if any dedicated devices were better. Thanks for the comment.

I used to work for VZW, and honestly, outside of hotspotting your phone (due to the limitations outside of the Unlimited plan), there aren't many good solutions that I have seen. You get hotspot on your plan, but can only have say 10GB out of the Unlimited Data, which translates to around 24GB a month before you get throttled down to 3G/4G speeds from LTE. You can get an in vehicle hotspot, but that is more $ onto your current plan, when you currently already have MHS. Take your phone into your local CORPORATE locale and tell them your phone doesn't run MHS as intended.

    Good luck!

I have Verizon’s Jetpack. And it works very well in my area. I worked a deal to add it to my current unlimited plan for an additional ten dollars. It fits directly under my ICS mount in my dash divot.

I use a Verizon jetpack. Enables me to use in truck and also when I’m at hotels for my kids. 20 bucks extra a month on my unlimited Verizon plan

I feel the Jetpack is worth the few extra dollars to add to your plan. It has come in very handy in all sorts of places that lacked service or had congested service.

I completely agree! ESPECIALLY if you travel! No matter what your hotel tells you, I have NEVER seen a "secure" hotel WiFi. So utilizing your hotspot or your phone if necessary is the best way!

Thanks for the comments. I will look into the Jetpack option.
