Thinking very hard whether this is worth $200 (versus one 2x6 plus bunch of milk crates):

    Thoughts?

I went the 2X6 route and I add crates or boxes as needed. Otherwise the board stays in place and keeps cargo from sliding. I had planned to try that out and see if it met the need for the cost of a board. That was about two year ago. The board is an easy take out when needed and still allows room to move items under the bed cover. That's my 2 cents based on the random items I carry around.

When I bought my truck it came with a drop-in bedliner which looks like plastic, but I'm pretty sure is actually made from black ice. You so much as think about braking and everything is up against the cab.

I used one of the ratcheting cargo bars from HF to keep things in place.

Ditched the drop-in as fast as I could and put in a full Bedrug, and haven't needed the cargo bar or anything else since.

    Love, LOVE the Bedrug!

It's easy to push/pull/slide stuff anywhere I want to in or out of the bed with the painter's pole and hook (see ^^^ pic)

Things move easily if you want them to but otherwise stay exactly where you put them while driving. If something is tippy or could become a dangerous projectile in an accident I'll put a strap on it but otherwise just put it in there and that's where it is when you open the tailgate.
Also has some nice cush to it when I do have to get in the bed and crawl around.

If it were me, I'd put the $200 towards that. (Just another option)

UPDATE: for now I decided to do the trusted 2x8 painted black and milk crates. I think it will work...
