It's not the Air Designs one, which is about half the size of this one. I really dig it, this would be exactly the right thing while hauling motorcycles with the tailgate lowered. But I haven't been able to find it.

What do you mean by towing with the tailgate down and how would this benefit that?

I don't mean towing, of course. I mean hauling one in the 5.5' bed of my CrewMax which would necessitate the tailgate being down. :) Puts the tailgate at risk of catching debris off the road sometimes.

No lead on the inquiry on the part at all? :monocle:

Ohhh okay makes sense. I tried a reverse image search, didnt yield any results. I will say though, adding extra weight to the tailgate does increase risk of snapping the bolt that mounts the strut that lowers the tailgate slowly, found that out the hard way after my dogs routinely pushed the tailgate down faster when jumping out.

I would think PPF would be the optimal way to protect the tailgate paint in the lowered position. Can't tell for sure if the screws on that are into the tailgate or just for show.

Sounds like PPF is your best option not a panel/applique. PPF wont protect against dents but mostly everything else.

Personally not a fan of the ABS trim/panels/fenders on paint panels look on the Tundra. I know folks like the "rugged" look but I think it looks cheap and awful on these trucks. You can see the tailgate piece in this video:
    https://youtu.be/_Cre9CwV8Qs?si=3rPztc3AfrvU_tZ1

The tailgate piece looks better painted color matched IMO.

Good Lord, I dunno what the stuff in that video is, but they should not be allowed to call that a "Styling Kit" :puke:
