    Hello,

I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Lil B's or the True North Fabrication front bumper for my build. I really like the hybrid plate/tube look and those options seem to be the lightest.

I didn't make weight a priority on my last build and it very quickly turned into an 11 mpg pig. That's not the end of the world until your fuel economy/capacity exceeds the distance between gas stations at 11pm in northern Nevada, but that's a story for another time...

I looked at the bumper thread on this site and didn't see anything about the True North option and just wanted to see if anyone had installed their bumper, if you went with the plate or the hybrid wings, if you got a low, med, or high hoop, ect.

Any pictures or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I just installed the lift and wheels this week though. There is another Army Green on bronze method wheels in the area that may be who you've seen.

Ah, maybe. It was a few weeks ago when I was down south. Good luck on the bumper choice!

From my experience the tube/hybrid bumpers are worst on mileage… I went through 4 different style bumpers on my previous Tacoma (CBI, C4, BAMF, Brute Force Fab) and the tube hybrid style netted me 12mpg, while plated netted 14ish. I’m guessing it’s from the wind resistance

That's interesting. The tube bumpers are generally lighter than the plate bumpers so I would have thought the reduced weight would offset any decrease in fuel economy from poor aerodynamics.

I realize it's silly to be concerned with weight and aerodynamics on a vehicle that looks like it's constructed with blocks, but I want to factor it in wherever practical.

I emailed the company today and asked if they had any additional pictures of it from different angles and of different configurations. They got back to me quickly, but said it's so new, they don't have many photos yet.

They may make the majority of their business selling GX, Tacoma, 4runner ect parts, but I definitely won't be buying a bumper without seeing what it looks like first.

Maybe aerodynamics is a bigger factor than weight? I'm not a doctor though...

At first I thought True North would be a Canadian company, “The true North strong and free” and all.
What a weird name for a company from Florida.

SRQ Fabrications bought True North a couple years ago. It was originally a guy in Michigan or one of those states.
