    *Update*
To fix the logout issue/shortcuts not running. In the Toyota app, account settings, security, Disable Face ID.

    Items Required.
    • 2022+ Tundra/Toyota.
    • iPhone Requires iOS 12.0 or later.
    • iPad Requires iPadOS 12.0 or later.
    • iPod touch Requires iOS 12.0 or later.
    • Apple Shortcuts.
    • Active Subscription. (Remote Connect)
    • Auto Millage tracker: Requires Drivey App.

    iPhone Setup:

    * Bold is a touch/click.
    * Steps below are relevant for all Shortcuts in this post.

iPhone Apple shortcut App > Automations (bottom tab) > (+ plus sign, top right) > (half way down page) click on (When CarPlay disconnect/connects)> (de-select connects) (Select disconnects & run immediately) > Next (top right) > New Blank automation (symbol/Button) > Add action > type in search bar (Wait) > Enter desired seconds (80 has worked for me) > add action > search (Toyota) > select (remote lock vehicle).

For any of these to work:
You need to make a shortcut. Then create an automation as above, that uses said shortcut. I’ve attached pictures to help, as this is more complicated.

    • Auto Lock: This automatically locks your vehicle ___seconds after you depart/turn off ignition.
    Auto Lock.jpg

    • 9Pm Auto Lock:

    9Pm AutoLock.jpg

    • Multiple vehicles on Remote Connect App (prevents Locking other)
    Two Vehichle in App Lock.jpg

    • Morning temperature work warmup.
    Morning Temp Start.jpg

    • Auto text travel time (Work - Home)
So she has time to kick the other guy out.Leaving work Text.jpg

    • Auto Millage tracker: Requires Drivey App. (Two Steps)

    • Step 1.

    • Step Two:

    Feedback is always welcome.
I will keep this up to date as we go.

What if you have multiple Toyota vehicles in the app, or in general CarPlay in multiple vehicles. If say I left my Tundra (CarPlay), would it lock my Tundra or Highlander in the app? That's hypothetical since my Highlander is a 2016 without CarPlay or Remote Connect, BUT just curious if anyone knows how this would work? I'm guessing the iOS shortcut doesn't know which vehicle you're connected to.

    Great question,

I believe it would only do the current vehicle in your “garage” in your Toyota App. Don’t have two yota’s to test on, so could be wrong.

I do remember this being mentioned somewhere in the Toyota App rabbit hole.

This doesn’t involve Apple CarPlay strangely enough. Just when it turns off, in this case.

    First post!

    nice automation.

so if it doesn’t involve carplay really and it is just when it turns off then everytime I would drive my wifes car and my phone disconnects from her car it wouldn’t run the automation?

Yes and no. If your wife’s car was in your remote connect app “garage” then it would.
If it was your Tundra in said garage it would lock it.

Anytime you disconnect from CarPlay it will lock the vehicle in your garage. Unless it detects a fob in the vehicle. Then nothing happens.

Yeah, my questions was if I have this automation running in my phone what happens if I drive and connect my phone to my wifes mdx. After having it running today, everytime I drove the mdx the automation ran. Is there anyway of making it vehicle specific?

Which iOS version are you using. I am on 16.6 and the navigation above doesn't match what I see in the shortcut App?

OK, I think I got it programmed, but it didn't look much like the above instructions. I will see if it works tomorrow morning!

UPDATE: Couldn't wait. Tried it tonight and it worked!

I’m currently on the iOS 17 Beta.
I’ve added pictures to address any confusion.

Thanks! I was able to figure it out after looking at what you were suggesting. It works. For some reason today I got logged out of my Toyota app. That's never happened before so the shortcut wouldn't run. After I logged back in it worked. I'll keep an eye on it.

I have tried shortcuts in the past and they work for the most part but sometimes they won’t and Toyota app logs me out. I then have to log back in in order to get shortcuts to work again. Does anyone know a way to prevent the app from logging out?

Yep! Just logged me out again. Might not be worth it having to login after every time it runs the Shortcut.

Happy this helped! Here’s my latest ones. They run automatically every day.

The Auto mileage recorder requires the app (Drivey) for the shortcut extension.
Including making a “Notes” note labeled mileage log.

(disclaimer, running shortcuts logs you out of the Toyota App. But the automations/shortcuts continue working).

I saw there were two updates to the Toyota App on back to back days believe it was the 21 and 22nd. Can anyone confirm if running shortcuts continues to log them out off the app or has that since been fixed? It looks like they finally fixed the Jwt error

I'm wondering why to start the truck if the temp is below 0°? I this just a general low temp and you want your truck to always start at this time ,but then why the temp marker to engage the start option. I'm asking because I recently moved to a mountain area, bought a 4x4 tundra 2022, and I haven't lived in the snow before. In my world class fashion, I bought a truck too long for my new garage, but then again I just can't manage my work with the 5'5 bed. So, my truck lives in the cold, and I wonder what pros like you guys do, to properly house a truck like this outside..

So this shortcut (temp Start) is if you have a strict work schedule. Where you leave at the exact same time every day.
I can't speak on behalf of the (pro's) haha. But if I had to speculate.

    - Once a week let it run for 10 minutes. (keep seals happy)
    - Once a month take it down a highway. (80km/h)
    - If its sitting longer than that, a car cover for hail/weather dmg prevention would ease my mind.

in conjunction with your vehicles recommended maintenance schedule.

I set this up recently but set it to start on weekdays in the mornings and evenings. It doesn't seem to want to work unless my phone is unlocked... Anyone else experience this?

My Toyota App keeps logging out regardless of my security setting so the automation fails if I don’t keep logging in. Does anyone know a way to keep the Toyota App logged in?

I was having the same problem too. The solution is in your Toyota app. Go to account settings, security. And turn off Face ID. Essentially it makes your app not require face identification. So far it’s fixed the issue.

Working so far for me. Might be Can/Usd app difference. Here’s what my setting look like.
