Just decided to reactivate connected services for my '21, and I can't access the Remote Connect Activation app. All 3 apps are grayed-out. I found a couple forum posts on this topic, but none of them had any follow-up with what the problem actually is and how they fixed it. Anybody know?

    Thanks!

Have you already gotten the app on the phone and applied for everything through that?

Yes, I just need to enter the authorization code under the "Remote Connect Authorization" App, but all three apps are grayed-out and unavailable.20230511_114153.jpg

I figured it out. In the toyota app, I had to select the tundra, scroll down to "app suite" (I'd never tried to scroll down before!), and go through the connection process there. My trial of connected services had expired before the new app dropped, so I'd never done this step. Everything seems to be working now, and we'll see if I can update the map on my way home from work. Thanks!

Another update: I've got a subscription for dynamic navigation, but it refuses to even try to update map data. It just tells me to take it to the dealer.

So, upon further searching, there may be no OTA map update option at all. The Dynamic Navigation info site says a USB stick will be mailed. Great, it's funny they don't mention that when they're goosing you through the subscription process. My map version is still 2020 and I was hoping to have it updated before a trip tomorrow, I guess I'll see if the dealer can help at all. But I have to say, Toyota's pissed me off pretty good with this one. Their constant changes to their head unit and schizophrenic changes to app compatability, combined with their complete lack of a single authoritative POI on the subject is infuriating. They point you to the new subscription services at every turn but present you with 0 insight on compatibility. I have never regretted anything with my Toyotas until now.
    Rant over.

Honestly I would go with CarPlay or Android Auto and call it a day. It’s going to be a better interface the maps are always updated and you are already paying for it through your cell phone service

I just use Waze over Carplay. Unless you are off grid even then you will use a separate nav.

So now I'm trying to update the units firmware! The head unit says it's 1130/1110 and the new version is 1162/1150, but when I insert the USB with the new files, the head unit insists it's up-to-date.

Android Auto it is then. Thanks, Toyota!
