As like all Tundra owners, we like to roll down the rear windows to get fresh air, because we can  or unless it is raining or there is water on the roof.

I was debating on the roof spoiler or the AVS visor. Ended up trying out the AVS, since it is easy to install and $60. The visor is actually designed for the double cab and AVS nor anyone else makes a visor for the Crewmax.

After spending a few weeks with it, I conclude that it does not prevent water from dripping in very well.

If you have the window open an inch, it will prevent all water from dripping in. The visor covers the window ~3 inches, but the main issue is how the curvature of the Tundra rear window. Opening the window more than 1 1/2 inch, the corners are already below the visor. The visor also is narrower than the window and because the corner ends of the visor curve inwards, it causes water to channel into the cabin. To solve this problem, the sides will need to be extended and run along and all the way down the window.

I'm not sure why AVS and Weather Tech can't design one, they already have a large customer base since 2007 :D

In conclusion, It is still better at preventing water intrusion than without the visor. I estimate protection from water up to 1-1/2 inch and less water above that. It also provides some more sun shade, although covers up the window a bit too much.

I'll give this an OK, but a non-essential Tundra gear. :monocle:

There was a guy somewhere... me...that made that same one an inchannel one and trimmed 2 1/2” off it.

You might like it better, I know I did.

I've seen your idea and really like it, I wished I had seen your for sale posting a week before I bought mine.

It definitely allows more visibility out of the back window.

The issue remains since the back window is shaped where the bottom is wider than the top, therefore opening a small amount allows water to drip into the cabin through the sides. If the window was more squared, or if the visor was wider, it would prevent it.

The visor would have to extend to the pillar or the sides extend lower, following the curvature.

I want to try using wider visors designed for other trucks or cars, something 3 or more inches wider.
